Kaidan Game Train: Abide Rule or Die!

Chapter 2392: Enemies Everywhere

Chapter 2392: Enemies Everywhere

The Fish Banquet Building had many rooms. Even if the tools and instruments weren’t enough, one could still shake off the Fish Banquet players by hiding in a room; the only thing to watch out for were the people or things inside the rooms.Xu Huo rushed to the 53rd floor, quickly made a simple judgment using his characteristics, and then opened a room. Fortunately, inside were three players. These three were clearly not together, each wary of the others, and they didn’t make any moves against him.

"I’m just coming in to lay low," Xu Huo raised his hands first, indicating he had no malicious intent and just wanted a place to rest.

The other three didn’t move, they looked at one another, and after a moment, the old man pointed to a vacant spot, "You can stay over there."

Xu Huo moved over slowly. The Girl in the painting appeared much more composed, she directly sat on the sofa beside them, paying no mind to the gazes of the others, rummaging through her backpack, and only turning her head when she found her food was gone.

Xu Huo understood her meaning but only tossed her a few pieces of candy, "We might have to keep escaping later, no need to rush."

"Every time the Fish Banquet’s room doors open from the outside, the corresponding room changes. The odds of the same room being fixed are slim," said the old man, "You’re quite safe here."

That depended on whether the operators of the Fish Banquet also had to follow the building’s rules or if they fully understood how the props in this place worked.

For example, an existence like the Tentacle Tool was not an easy opponent for the Fish Banquet players. Rooms had a certain chance to open with similar tools, but if the people in the Fish Banquet Building knew the rules of the room’s movement, it wouldn’t be difficult for them to avoid danger and find you.

Not responding to the old man’s words, Xu Huo waited for a while, and indeed, no one else burst into the room. Only then did he smile and take out some of the food he brought to share with the others.

The other two players didn’t pay attention, but the old man accepted his kindness without suspicion.

After a brief conversation, Xu Huo learned that the old man was looking for someone, and he’d been talking to him to inquire about news.

He took out an old photograph, pointed to a person on the edge, and asked if he had seen him in the Fish Banquet Building.

There were eight people in the photo. Xu Huo hadn’t seen the person the old man pointed to, but he did recognize the one in the middle, as that was the Formal Dress Player who had just died at the zoo.

This was quite interesting.

"I haven’t seen the person you’re looking for, but..." Xu Huo’s finger moved to the Formal Dress Player, and after pausing his gaze on the old man’s face, he continued, "This person looks a lot like an employee of Fish Banquet."

"Really?" The old man seemed quite excited, "Could you tell me where you saw him? He and my son should be friends, maybe he knows my son’s whereabouts..."

"I ran into him on the ninth or tenth floor before," Xu Huo said, "But that was days ago, going there now is pointless."

He paused and then said, "But since that person is an employee here, you could ask a waiter about him or ask them to contact him for you, to have him come find you."

"Right, right, you’re right," the old man nodded repeatedly, then added, "I just don’t know if the other party will bother with an old man like me. Young man, can you describe what that person is like?"

"I heard from others that he has some quirks, likes to make inedible food," Xu Huo said, "As for the rest, I don’t know, but if you give the waiter a little extra money, someone might be willing to tell you more."

Before the Formal Dress Player died, you certainly couldn’t buy his information from a waiter, but now that he’s dead it might be different.

The old man still wanted to probe about the Formal Dress Player. After hearing Xu Huo describe his appearance and abilities, his expression sank uncontrollably, "He lived so well... he probably looks down on my small offerings, might not come to see me..."

"You never know," Xu Huo said, "Maybe he’s a good guy willing to take a knife for a friend?"

At this point, another player in the room snickered, "A good guy? Don’t kid yourself, that person works for Fish Banquet and is doing quite well, what good person could he be?"

"Old man, I’d advise you not to seek him out, I’ve heard he often organizes for Cannibal Players... it’s ridiculous since he’s not a Cannibal Player himself."

"If your son really is his friend, he’s either a Cannibal Player or he’s already been eaten, you might as well save yourself the trouble of finding him and risking your old life."

The harsh words greatly angered the old man, but those who live longer learn to weigh the pros and cons. Time and hardships have worn away their passion and fight, preventing them from easily clashing with others.

After a moment, the old man swallowed his anger, didn’t respond to the person’s remarks, and just thanked Xu Huo before returning to his previous spot to rest.

Xu Huo came to Fish Banquet to find the Gourmet and couldn’t hide in the room forever. After calling on the Girl in the painting to change her appearance and outfit in the bathroom, he was ready to leave the room.

But just as they reached the door, the Girl in the painting suddenly turned back, raised the Communicator, and said something to the old man. The old man stood up in shock, "Really?!"

The Girl in the painting smiled and nodded, then jogged to the door, urging Xu Huo to leave.

"Wait..." the old man’s voice of entreaty was shut inside the door, and once Xu Huo was out, he used a prop to quickly change locations, then asked the Girl in the painting what she had just told the old man.

"I told him that person was killed by you," the Girl in the painting said proudly.

Xu Huo didn’t correct her that the Formal Dress Player hadn’t died at his hands. He merely caused a distraction while the other player was besieged. The old man didn’t seem to genuinely be looking for his son; the photo was fake, and the emphasis was on the Formal Dress Player, which was why he inquired so much.

There was no need to tell him the person had died; it wouldn’t do any good for either party. Once he inquired with the waitstaff, the news of a death would reach the staff fastest, and a little money would get him a secure answer without drawing any attention.

"Why deceive him?" Xu Huo said flatly.

"How is it deception?" The Girl in the painting retorted, "If you hadn’t acted, when the spider lock arrived, that person definitely wouldn’t have died!"

"I only told him because I felt sorry for him."

This was quite unexpected for Xu Huo, "You noticed?"

The Girl in the painting tilted her head to look at him, "Wanting revenge for his child while pretending to know nothing as he inquired after his enemy, his acting was awful, nothing compared to actors on TV."

"Emotions can surface when facing an enemy," Xu Huo said.

"If my enemy died, I’d be delighted; knowing a minute sooner would be a minute of happiness," the Girl in the painting nodded, "It’s a good deal."
