Kaidan Game Train: Abide Rule or Die!

Chapter 2391: Blub Blub Blub

Chapter 2391: Blub Blub Blub

"What’s the rush," Shi Shuai waved his hand, "we’ll get out when we can."The tone suggested he was sure they’d get out safely, but before the two could rejoice, Shi Shuai added, "Whether we survive depends firstly on luck and secondly on fate, being anxious won’t help."

Their smiles froze before they could widen.

However, the tense situation didn’t last long. As the Prop Fish crossed space again, it unexpectedly returned directly to the Fish Banquet Building. Just as they were about to marvel at their good fortune, the Prop Fish spat them out and vanished into the space with a flick of its tail!

The group of five found themselves standing in the middle of someone else’s conference table.

With the current game technology, meetings don’t require people’s physical presence; holographic simulation technology can almost pass for reality. Thus, only some decorations were placed on the table, but around the table sat people wearing masks. The only one unmasked stood in the center of the conference table, right beneath their feet.

This was also a holographic projection, flickering due to their interruption, but the voice continued without stopping:

"... The personnel data regarding Governor Zhai’s attackers have been updated. It is certain the opponents have begun Temporal Evolution and are equipped with spatial Super Instruments..."

The unmasked person walked out from under their five positions, half his body blocked by the conference table, leaving only his upper body visible on the tabletop. He, along with the eight people beside the table, scrutinized Xu Huo’s group of five, without saying a word. The next second, a dozen players appeared inside the conference room!

The players divided into two groups simultaneously, while all the doors and windows around the conference room were closed. Heavy metal emitted a dull collision sound, and then three layers of barriers were activated simultaneously. The first tightly hugged the walls, the second separated by about twenty meters, where the corresponding area’s conference room floor sprang open, revealing holes that sprayed heavy toxic gas.

The third layer didn’t contain toxic gas, but inside stood a group of Fish Banquet players. While they were setting up props and instruments, at the innermost section, that is, where Xu Huo’s group and the conference table were located, the ceiling opened up and twelve spider locks descended. Besides these spider locks, they also had to deal with seven players!

As this situation unfolded, Xu Huo’s group was already seeking an escape plan. The place they emerged was clearly wrong, so the best choice was to use Tickets to leave. However, the game channel was still disconnected, let alone Tickets; they couldn’t even take out Props, and all the instruments they carried, whether spatial or others, failed under the influence of Interference Devices—even in terms of interference device completeness and level, they were no match for Fish Banquet!

All Prop instruments were locked down, leaving them with only hand-to-hand combat as an option!

The spider locks moved swiftly and silently; Xu Huo’s group not only had to avoid them, but also guard against Fish Banquet players’ occasional sneak attacks and interference. It appeared their strategy was to prioritize resolving issues with spider locks, with the first wave of players only assisting from the side. If all spider locks were completely destroyed, the first barrier broken, only then would the second group and toxic gas attack follow. Overall, without Tickets, Props, and instruments, with nothing to defend themselves, even if they could outmatch Fish Banquet players, it would be impossible to evade the subsequent toxic gas!

"Bang!" The male player accompanying them shattered an oncoming spider lock against the barrier, calling out to the others, "Help me!"

The ring on his hand could be unscrewed, revealing a slender short needle. He struck the barrier with it, causing it to crack starting from the ring!

"Are you stupid!" Shi Shuai approached, "Breaking this barrier only brings more players!"

Between the second and third barriers stood the second group of players, who weren’t in combat mode at that moment. But if this barrier was broken, they’d face an assault by fourteen players. Though no one could use Props and instruments, five against fourteen wasn’t advantageous!

"Then what do you suggest?" the male player shouted, "Are we supposed to wait here to die!"

"Hey, can you get out?" Shi Shuai turned to Xu Huo.

Xu Huo understood his question: he was asking if psychic power could penetrate the metal floor. Unfortunately, Interference Devices here also targeted Psychic Evolvers, not only destabilizing the Spiritual World but also exerting immense pressure on Evolvers. This interference didn’t significantly affect other players.

"Can’t get out." He grabbed a decoration from the conference table and precisely smashed an attacking spider lock without turning his head, "Don’t count on me; you think of something."

"Without Props or instruments, what can I do?" Shi Shuai’s voice rose, "Unless that fish comes to pick us up..."

Mid-sentence, a huge fish eye appeared before them:

"Blub blub blub."

The Prop Fish’s details were somewhat crude, so this unrefined fish eye gazed at them without expression, leaving them uncertain whether it was alive or just an object...

"Blub blub blub." Without tentacle tools in its mouth, it seemed quite busy.

"We’re saved!" the female player shouted, now willing to cooperate proactively without waiting for the fish to swallow her.

Unfortunately, the Prop Fish wasn’t inclined to do so; it then retreated its fish head back into space.

Hope came and went quickly; just as the female player cursed, it reappeared, now between the second and third barriers, swallowing three Fish Banquet players in one go!

"Well done!" Shi Shuai applauded.

The elusive Prop Fish continued to devour four consecutive people, with Fish Banquet players finding little room to resist; the barrier entrapped Xu Huo’s group as much as it did them!

Realizing such confinement wouldn’t accomplish their goal, the man by the conference table raised his hand, prompting the Fish Banquet players within the barrier to leave.

"How can they get out!" the female player wondered; when these people entered, the game channel was already disconnected, not reactivated now, yet they could exit via a spatial passage?!

"Follow them!" Xu Huo swept past her, smashing through the third barrier, pursuing one Fish Banquet player. Inside the barrier, no visible Space Portal existed, but spatial power fluctuations don’t lie; they’d divided the conference room into layers and arranged players separately to conceal and isolate spatial power fluctuations, leaving room for their own people.

Leading the charge, Xu Huo grabbed the Girl in the painting. She was followed by Shi Shuai, then the remaining male and female player duo. The five crossed the spatial passage, reaching a corridor of a Fish Banquet floor. Although unclear which floor, once outside, Props and instruments could be used again, and without any delay, they scattered in different directions!
