Chapter 1074

Thud! Thud! Thud!

Scratch!

The demon clawed his way to a halt just as Thalos could be seen descending from above, his greatsword raised over his head, poised for a devastating strike.

BAM!

The sword sliced through the earth, creating a massive trench that stretched out wide.

The Zodiac had already dashed away in time, leaving the blade to slice through nothing but empty ground.

Zap!

A laser beam from Noir bolted toward the demon, who quickly spun around with his claws swung outward, clashing with the energy beam and sending it ploughing harmlessly through the ground.

The same beam that always tore through the bodies of normal combatants couldn’t even rip through the fur covering the demon’s hand.

Scarlet glanced behind her for a second before flames blazed around her hands and heels, allowing her to rocket forward with immense speed.

Beside her, Raze was doing the exact same.

Greg was already ahead of them both, utilizing his lightning affinity to close the distance.

Enough of standing on the sidelines.

Mada, Alba, and Killian were beginning to give chase too.

Before the demon could reposition, Kira darted forward, a bright, crackling beam of lightning ripping from her beak at point-blank range.

Jim stared at the beam, then twirled around the phoenix, allowing the attack to pass by and rip the earth to shreds.

His claws lashed toward the phoenix, ready to strike her down.

A bright light suddenly surrounded the lightning phoenix, and with a flash, she vanished just as the demon’s claws ripped the air apart.

The displaced air quickly rushed back together, forming a colossal wind fist that clobbered into his face with bone-rattling force.

The demon was sent reeling backward.

He spun around, lifting one hand to block a fiery punch from Scarlet that caused the terrain beneath them to cave in immediately.

Before the demon could counter, Raze swooped in from below with a jagged bolt of energy thrust directly at the demon’s core.

’Focus,’ Raze chided himself as the attack flew forward.

It was fast, but Jim was faster.

Pushing Scarlet away, he kicked off the air, dodging the bolt as it crashed through the ground.

Amir swung his hands downward, and instantly, a huge metal hammer swung down with blazing speed.

Jim glanced upward to see the weapon speeding his way.

All he did was lift a single hand, stopping the hammer’s head from moving an inch.

A blast of wind burst outward, but the weapon was completely halted by the demon, who stared down at them with absolute disdain.

"Here, have it back!" he shouted, hurling the hammer back toward them.

The metal weapon flew forward with such blazing momentum that the defenders were barely able to dive to the side before the hammer obliterated the ground for twenty meters onward.

The demon landed back on the ground just as an arrow flew his way with tremendous speed.

Snatching it out of the air before it could strike his eye, he looked into the distance to see Lilly perched atop a broken structure, her fingers bleeding from drawing her bowstring nonstop.

The demon twirled the arrow around, about to hurl it back, when Killian came in from the side with a sharp swing of his obsidian sword.

The demon raised a claw, blocking the blade, before his leg snapped upward to intercept a sudden thrust from Alba aimed at his abdomen.

Two massive spheres of water were hurled from Charlotte, crashing into Jim’s face with the force of a blunt object.

Yet, his head shifted just an inch to the side to absorb the impact.

Visual ki erupted around Mada’s sword as he hurled himself forward in a blitzing slash.

The demon bound backward, causing the sword to crash into the air.

Before his feet could touch the ground, Rivock flash stepped before the Zodiac in the blink of an eye.

His entire hand was wrapped in layers and layers of Ki, which he swung forward, smashing it into the demon’s midsection with unrestrained power.

Boooom—!

The air caved in behind the demon, but aside from staggering a meter backward, the attack seemed to not hurt the creature at all.

Only for the young warrior to grin.

Snap—!

His fingers clicked together.

That was when it clicked in Jim’s head as he looked down at his stomach to see a glowing pellet of ki stuck there.

Before he could react, an explosion burst open, sending his body blasting backward.

He didn’t go too far when Thalos appeared with a punch speeding toward the demon, aiming to amplify the impact of Rivock’s ki technique.

However, with a grit of his teeth, Jim smashed his feet into the ground, forcing himself to only continue skidding backward as he whirled around Thalos’ punch, which crashed into the air with booming force.

Feeling that the demon was right behind him, the gargoyle wasted no time in whirling around sharply, his second fist rocketing toward the Zodiac like a meteor.

Jim leaped into the air, causing the ground to explode beneath his feet as he avoided the punch.

In one fluid motion, he spun around and then bashed his toes into the gargoyle’s neck with immense force.

The moment the kick landed, the ground ruptured open as Thalos was driven into the earth, further deepening the hollow that burst open while rocks flew into the air.

Mada darted forward, flash stepping into the dust with his swords lashing toward the demon with blazing momentum.

Waving his hand, the demon immediately dispersed the dust.

A palm.

He rose a palm and placed it solidly in front of the blade. No matter how hard Mada tried, he was unable to slice through the palm.

That was when the demon’s second claw burst forward with blazing speed.

Mada was slow in reacting; he couldn’t move away in time.

BANG! TCHAAAAAK!

’Huh? Again?’ Jim frowned in anger as he could see that someone had flash stepped in front of his claws again, taking the hit meant for Mada.

’Huh?’

Mada opened his eyes to take in the person who had just intercepted the strike instead of him.

When the figure turned around with blood gathering in his mouth, the descendant’s eyes widened in horror.

"Brother Gunther!"
