Chapter 1073
"Aaaaaah!"
The scream erupted from their midst as Lyra was genuinely stunned on seeing the creature’s claws racing toward her with blazing speed.
Flames roared around Scarlet and Raze’s hands, which they swung forward, sending a fireball each that suddenly coalesced into something much bigger and slammed directly into the creature’s limb.
It wasn’t enough force to push the beast away, but it allowed the wind to howl around Lyra with intensity and then propel her backward just as the claw sliced through the space she had occupied a microsecond prior.
Amir wasted no time in darting forward.
A metallic longsword gleamed in his hand while behind him, his colossal metal golem came stomping forward.
Jim looked up to see the construct and then looked down to find Amir before him, swinging his weapon with all his might.
Jim sidestepped the attack and was about to counter when the golem swung its foot forward as if it wanted to kick a ball.
The Zodiac was now forced to vault backward when a dozen lightning arrows from Greg suddenly hurtled forward, forcing the demon to begin dashing around the area to prevent the projectiles from striking him.
Click!
Rivock snapped his fingers, and the spot the demon found himself upon suddenly burned bright yellow, followed by a sudden blast that threw a heavy blanket of dust into the air.
The demon, however, burst out of the debris like a sniper’s bullet.
The golem was quick to react as a stomp came heading straight toward his head.
Lifting his hands upward, the demon met the golem’s foot with his raised guard, resulting in a bone-rattling collision.
The terrain buckled under their immense weight as a twenty-meter-wide crater split open, while Jim held the leg back—refusing to allow it to crush him.
Dante placed his hands on the ground and, almost immediately, earthen pillars rose up and went hurtling toward the demon with breakneck speed.
Glancing at the approaching pillars, Jim tensed his hands against the golem’s foot.
His claws sliced through the thick metal as the whole foot was ripped off violently.
Vaulting into the air, Jim slammed his feet in a double kick straight into the golem’s face with a massive bang.
The construct’s colossal body rose into the air and was sent blasting backward.
Within a blink, it crashed directly into the incoming earth pillars with a loud smash.
Still mid-air, Jim spun around and bolted back toward the earth when the spot he was heading toward suddenly glowed with shimmering runes.
Shooting upward was a massive funnel of flames that hurtled toward the demon’s face.
Without breaking his stride, he crossed his claws in front of his countenance and then slashed outward, tearing through the vortex of fire and dispelling it completely.
He landed on the ground softly.
Smoothly.
Unhurt and ready to cause more damage.
But Amir was already right behind him with a sudden swing of his metal sword.
Zodiac One could feel the rush of the blade speeding his way when he vanished from view with unimaginable speed.
Amir’s sword sliced through the empty air harmlessly.
From behind him, a crushing kick was speeding toward his exposed back.
But then, Thalos swooped in from above after being dropped by Kira.
His sword was no longer in his hands as he crashed directly into the path between the foot and the Captain’s back, crossing his arms firmly in front of his body to take the blow.
BAM! BOOOOM!
The ground exploded in a rain of dust and debris as Thalos dug his toes through the earth, stubbornly refusing to be moved.
His absolute resistance cost him, however, as cracks deepened across his forearms, the demonic Zodiac smirking directly at him all the while.
Kira immediately dove downward with blazing speed. In a heartbeat, her wings lashed toward the demon, sending hundreds of razor-sharp feathers speeding its way.
Using Thalos’s raised guard as a launchpad, Jim propelled himself backward with explosive force, while the remaining momentum sent the gargoyle blasting away like a ragdoll.
Spinning around, Jim swung his hand through the dirt to halt his momentum, just as Gunther appeared directly before him.
Visual ki blazed around Gunther’s curved blades, which were swung with maximum strength.
A wheel of yellow water burst out from the strike, but the Zodiac simply dove to the side, cleanly avoiding the assault as it tore through the earth.
"I have been with Orion for years, and you think I wouldn’t be able to defend against the Waterfall Clan’s technique?"
The demon’s voice slithered out from the side, far too close to Gunther for comfort.
The warrior’s hands twitched, his sword about to flip around, when he suddenly felt a blazing rush of wind hurtling toward his flank.
Claws!
Before the claws could strike him, a greatsword descended from above with crushing weight, smashing the incoming limb into the ground with immense force.
This granted Gunther enough time to whirl around, his sword lashing forward only to be deflected by the demon’s second claw, while the first remained pinned down by Thalos’s massive blade.
"Aerius Ultra," Lyra called out as a humongous blast of wind surged forward, crashing into the demon but barely moving it an inch.
Gunther’s second sword shot directly toward the demon’s eye, only for his wrist to be seized roughly.
He was thrown to the side like a piece of discarded clothing.
The Zodiac was about to rip his pinned hand free when the earth moved under Dante’s command.
Tons of earthen cuffs surged across his limbs, pinning him downward even further.
With a powerful grunt, the sound of heavy metal creaking echoed as everybody turned to see Thalos lifting the colossal metal golem completely above his head with sheer grit.
Then, with another loud shout, he hurled the massive construct with all his might, sending the lifeless but incredibly heavy object rocketing through the air with lightning speed.
The demon had just broken out of the earthen cuffs when the golem shattered directly into his face with the collective force of multiple speeding trains.
A reverberating bang rippled through the air as the ground exploded outward, and the demon was sent hurtling backward across the terrain.
