Chapter 2263

Although Georgieva's acting was terrible, Heimdall failed to see through it. It wasn't that Heimdall was blind to such poor acting; rather, he simply didn't understand Georgieva. Based on publicly available information, Georgieva was a madman, and Heimdall shared this view.

After all, a person with a normal mind would never do such a thing.

Especially resorting to despicable tactics like kidnapping.

After all, Ger is a strong person no matter what!

In the universe, it's not that all the strong are good people. In fact, quite a few strong individuals are utterly wicked. However, one thing is universally acknowledged: the strong are inevitably proud!

A strong person must first have a strong heart; they are all incredibly confident, and confidence is the foundation of everything. Without this confidence, how can you possibly become strong?

Life is like the sea, sometimes calm, sometimes turbulent; worldly affairs are like mountains, continuous and unpredictable.

The strong are always strong in mindset. I really like a quote from Balzac: "The only thing I can rely on is my lion-like courage and invincible spirit."

At all times, believe in the mindset of the strong, for it can overcome anything. A fearless, courageous, and optimistic mindset is the hallmark of the strong. Only by possessing the courage of a lion and an invincible spirit can you unleash your vitality and charisma. Ultimately, live with confidence, self-assurance, and everything you have.

Faced with adversity, the weak often resign themselves to fate and ultimately achieve nothing; while the strong persevere and strive to change their destiny. The key lies in whether one's heart is resilient enough to withstand the trials of life, endure the tempering of hardship, and bear the test of humiliation.

Wang Yangming once said, "The mind is principle. Is there anything in the world outside the mind, or any principle outside the mind?"

A weak heart will lead to nothing.

Kang Youwei once said: "Self-strengthening is the way of the world, and a firm will is the way of a great ruler."

Those with strong inner strength possess both courage and wisdom, enabling them to achieve the path of a virtuous person; while those who are timid, cowardly, and incompetent are destined to fail in their endeavors. Zhao Gou, the first emperor of the Southern Song Dynasty, was known throughout his life for his timidity and cowardice, ultimately accomplishing nothing, a truly lamentable fate. In the second year of the Jingkang era, the Jin army captured Bianjing (Kaifeng) and soon occupied Yangzhou, plunging the nation into imminent danger. Faced with this situation, Zhao Gou was terrified, spending nearly six months in hiding at sea with his looted gold and silver. If it weren't for the valiant resistance of generals like Han Shizhong, who drove the Jin army out of Jiangnan, the country would likely have perished long ago. However, Zhao Gou's greatest fear was that after the war, Emperor Qinzong would be brought back, threatening his throne. Therefore, at the crucial moment when Yue Fei planned to attack the Jin capital, he ordered a retreat and signed the humiliating "Shaoxing Peace Treaty" with the Jin Dynasty. Zhao Gou's act of appeasement to secure his own temporary peace in a corner of the country ultimately stemmed from his inner weakness; he only knew how to escape when faced with problems. Not only was he unable to shoulder the heavy responsibilities, but he also refused to accept the advice of wise ministers, and even wrongly killed innocent people. In the end, he accomplished nothing and became a laughing stock in history.

As Mencius said, "When Heaven is about to place a great responsibility on a person, it will first test his mind, strain his muscles and bones, starve his body, leave him destitute, and thwart his endeavors."

A strong inner self is forged and tempered through adversity. Like a piece of raw iron, it will never become resilient steel without being forged and refined. The hardships and wounds we endure will ultimately make our hearts stronger. Therefore, instead of constantly running away, let go of your fears and bravely face the challenges; perhaps then you can become a unique and extraordinary version of yourself.

Only with inner strength can one remain indomitable.

The Book of Changes says, "The movement of heaven is strong; so should a gentleman constantly strive for self-improvement." When facing adversity, possessing a strong heart allows one to become more courageous and resilient, ultimately overcoming difficulties. When the renowned scholar Nan Huaijin first arrived in Taiwan, he was an unknown figure, lacking stable employment and living in dire poverty. Desperate, he partnered with several fellow villagers in a shipping business, hoping to improve his life. However, being a scholar, he lacked business experience, and the company soon suffered a severe blow. Due to improper transportation, the goods were burned, and the ships were almost entirely destroyed, resulting in a loss of nearly three thousand taels of gold. Overnight, Nan Huaijin became a penniless, heavily indebted man, his life plunged into despair. He was forced to relocate to a place filled with garbage... Near the vegetable market, he survived by scavenging vegetable scraps and drinking murky, dirty water. Even in such dire circumstances, he never gave up, but faced his hardships with positivity. In the days that followed, he continued writing amidst the bustling crowds, caring for his infant child and fulfilling his responsibilities as a father; he also worked odd jobs at night to support his family. Ultimately, with astonishing perseverance and unwavering will, he completed two monumental works of Buddhist philosophy, *A Modern Explanation of the Great Meaning of the Shurangama Sutra* and *A Modern Explanation of the Great Meaning of the Lankavatara Sutra*, leaving a precious spiritual legacy for future generations. It was precisely because Mr. Nan Huaijin possessed such a strong inner strength that he was able to overcome the darkest period of his life, giving him the courage to improve his life and the motivation to persevere.

As Dr. Sun Yat-sen once said, "Where my will leads, I will go; I will never give up, and I will become stronger with each setback."

Only a strong heart can be the best weapon to overcome all difficulties. After all, everyone experiences various hardships in life, and ultimately, you can only rely on yourself. No one will shelter you from the wind and rain forever, so you must learn to build your own shelter; only you are the strongest fortress, protecting yourself from harm. Cultivating a strong heart, never giving up easily, and seizing every opportunity are essential to forging ahead and ultimately achieving success; possessing a strong heart allows you to persevere in the face of difficulties, accumulate strength, and ultimately realize your goals.

The book "Free and Easy Wandering" says: "If the whole world praises you, you will not be encouraged; if the whole world criticizes you, you will not be discouraged."

A truly strong inner self is one that remains undisturbed by external noise, clearly distinguishes between honor and disgrace, and always follows one's own conscience. Wang Yangming, a philosopher of the Ming Dynasty, offended the powerful eunuch Liu Jin by opposing the eunuch's rule and was exiled to the desolate and remote Longchang in Guizhou. Longchang's environment was extremely harsh; not only was it barren, but it was also shrouded in poisonous miasma year-round, posing a constant risk of death. Even though Wang Yangming suffered physical torment, his inner self remained undisturbed and unshaken. He diligently reflected on his mistakes daily, contemplating the true meaning of life. He firmly believed that with strong conviction and a positive and optimistic attitude, one could overcome adversity and ultimately emerge from life's lowest point. It was through years of profound reflection and self-cultivation that Wang Yangming grasped the philosophical concept of "the mind is principle," becoming a great philosopher who influenced later generations. In his view, everyone should follow their own heart and live for themselves, not for the expectations and evaluations of others. Returning to simplicity and authenticity was his true inner yearning. Therefore, Wang Yangming no longer cared about the intrigues of officialdom or the temporary ups and downs of life, but instead pursued a peaceful and tranquil life, immersing himself in the mysteries of philosophy, ultimately achieving his highest level of attainment and status. Only by being true to oneself can one possess a strong inner self, unharmed by external influences; only by upholding one's original aspirations can one avoid being swept away by the tide, disregard worldly opinions, and become a more powerful version of oneself.

The Avatamsaka Sutra says, "Never forget your initial aspiration, and you will achieve your goal." How many people deny themselves because of the opinions of others, ultimately falling into the abyss of inferiority? How many people abandon their initial dreams because of temptations along the way, ultimately losing their way? Little do they know that consistently persevering and living for oneself is the most meaningful thing in life. What you hold dear will surely resonate; upholding yourself will forge a strong inner self. Lao Tzu said, "He who conquers others is strong; he who conquers himself is mighty." Inner strength is the most important source of power in life. What truly defeats us is not the storms or raging waves of the outside world, but rather our own hearts. Those with weak hearts are like fragile bubbles, bursting at the slightest touch; while those with strong hearts will ultimately become true champions, invincible.

Take Thor, for example.

Although he was exceptionally talented from a young age and received the best training and the best equipment.

Before coming to Earth for further studies, Thor wasn't actually that strong, at least not compared to Odin and Heimdall. He just had a good foundation. Back then, Odin would jokingly call Thor the "Hammer God"!

Because at that time, he relied entirely on his own excellent qualities and Thor's hammer to make a living.

Without the hammer, he is nothing.

So Odin sealed his divine power and cast a spell on the hammer in order to ignite Thor's inner conviction.

Back then, Thor was just a kid wielding an AK47!

Of course, a child with an AK47 can kill someone, but would anyone consider that child to be a strong person?

will not!

Everyone just thinks the AK-47 is really dangerous!

But a special forces member who has undergone rigorous training and been tested in blood and fire on the battlefield, even if he doesn't have an AK47, no one dares to underestimate him!

So, can strong people do bad things?

Of course, many villains are even strong!

For example, Thanos.

This guy is a notorious terrorist throughout the entire universe!

He wipes out half the population of every planet he visits... a complete antisocial madman.

But would Thanos resort to such childish and underhanded tactics?

The answer is no!

Even the strong have their pride, even the villains!

Dante did it.

So Heimdall really thought Gale was a madman... after all, only a madman wouldn't act according to common sense. Hmm... in a sense, Thanos was also a madman, since no one would do what he did, wiping out half the population of the entire universe for the sake of so-called balance.

But Thanos's madness is different from the madness that most people understand.

He is a true antisocial personality.

Are all antisocial people bad? Many would immediately answer, "Yes!" But in reality, people with antisocial personality disorder don't necessarily harbor clear malice towards others. Rather, they rarely experience any emotions towards anyone other than themselves, which is why they treat others like "objects." The behavioral consequences of antisocial personality disorder are undoubtedly malicious, but their motives are often not driven by malicious intent to harm others.

At the same time, they do not feel any shame or remorse for what they have done, and they do not feel any guilt for their actions!

Guilt stems from the acceptance and adherence to social rules and human morality, but for antisocial personalities, no human social morality or responsibility can constrain their behavior.

"I didn't do anything wrong" is their most common excuse when faced with accusations. Since they don't feel they've done anything wrong and have no intention of taking responsibility, the word "guilt" simply doesn't exist in their vocabulary.

Thanos is an example of this.

He has his own complete set of logic, and this logic is self-consistent!

The only difference is that this logic is completely incompatible with the logic of normal people!

But this doesn't mean Thanos is evil. At least in his logic, he's not evil. He's just taking necessary measures to prevent the calamity of his race from happening to other civilizations and races again!

Therefore, he will not feel guilty.

Instead, he became absorbed in his own world, feeling incredibly superior!

The madman that most people understand is someone who lacks logic and whose perception of things is completely chaotic.

But Thanos is different. His understanding of things is the same as ours, except that he thinks he sees things more advancedly!

In Heimdall's eyes, Ger was the kind of madman who fit the conventional understanding of a madman!

Since he's a madman, Heimdall wouldn't be surprised by any state he might exhibit.

So even though Gell's acting was extremely bad, in Heimdall's eyes, it was just that this madman had another episode!

"Heimdall, don't be too hostile towards me. I won't destroy Asgard; I just need a little convenience! It won't cause any consequences!"

Gel continued to act according to the script.

At this point, Heimdall continued according to his own internal script.

"Are you telling the truth? Even if it's true, how can I be sure you'll release Sif?"

Two bored guys, putting on an acting show for each other.

But in reality, it's difficult for both sides to maintain composure.

"I can give your sister back to you first!"

"I can't wait to say it," Ger said impatiently.

Heimdall felt a surge of excitement!

Damn it, is this lunatic really that easy to fool?

Sigh... Heimdall has always been an honest kid! He's never lied before, he's even told lies a few times in his life!

So I'm not very familiar with the business.

At this point, if it were Loki, he would have already started to have doubts... Who would be that stupid?

But Heimdall...

In short, Heimdall was very excited!
