Chapter 4199 Weekend Rest

Chapter 4199 Weekend Rest

The candlelight dinner in the beautiful manor garden was wonderful. Galina and Megan reminisced about their picnic in the park in Arcadia on Saturday, and Shad smiled as he recalled it.

“In the past, when we had a meal together, it was either on the Glorious Messenger or in a place that could accommodate many people, such as the Snow Mountain Hall or the Fragrant Residence.”

Let's go on a picnic together when we have more time. The Randall Valley is beautiful in spring, or perhaps we could visit the Vista Woodlands in the height of summer. If it's feeling too hot lately, a short camping trip on Mount Fatoumunst would also be a great option right now.

Galina gently wiped the corner of her mouth with a napkin:

“Actually, we can do all of these things, Shad. You’re finally starting to enjoy life.”

Megan said with a smile as she cut her steak, which was garnished with broccoli, with a knife:

"Shad is probably the most boring person I know. Apart from occasionally playing Rhodes, his only pleasure in life is teasing Xiaomia and us."

The ambiguous yet not overly inappropriate jokes made the three people in the candlelight even happier. Xia De put down his wine glass and leaned back slightly in his chair.

"Sometimes I wonder, what will life be like when it's all really over, when we've achieved the ending we've been hoping for?"

He looked up at the starry sky. The night sky in the suburbs was beautiful and bright; the stars in the deep night seemed to be looking at him as well.

"I've attracted so many girls. If we all end up living together, numbers six and seven in St. Teresa's Place will be too small. And will you all be happy living together? Without those dangerous adventures, can I still get everyone to hold hands and stand together?"

Fairy tales always end with the prince and princess's wedding. I know why; married life isn't so fairytale-like.

Megan looked at Galina with some concern, but the Duchess still wore a smile, because she realized that Galina knew how to handle Shad in this situation; Luvia had spoken to her about similar situations:

"Look at you, always putting so much pressure on yourself. Do you lack confidence in yourself? Or do you feel that once life loses its excitement, and everyone has to face the ordinary life that ordinary people also face, this family will gradually lose its cohesion?"

Shade nodded, and Galina picked up her wine glass again, using the dark red wine to shield her left eye:

Actually, we should be the ones worried, not you.

What are you worried about?

“I’m worried that once the story comes to an end, you’ll step onto a new level and fly away in a dazzling display, leaving us, the people standing on the ground, to tell your story and legend.”

She winked her beautiful right eye at Shad:

“As long as you’re here, life will never be boring, and the Hamilton family’s cohesion is definitely not sustained by those adventures. We all firmly believe that. But after everything is over, Shad, what choice will you make?”

"With so many hands holding me back, Mia and I can't fly."

Shad gave this reply, and the Duchess nodded slightly, while Megan muttered a complaint:

"It's supposed to be a candlelight dinner, why are you talking about this kind of thing?"

She put down her knife and turned to look at Shad, the sapphire earrings on her ears reflecting the surrounding starlight:

“Audrey and I have already decided on you, so you can’t let go of our hands. I don’t want to seriously plan for the future that’s too far away right now. All I know is that, Shad, this year since we met you has been the happiest time of Audrey and my lives.”

Although she said that, she still asked as she picked up her glass:

"You'll always be with us, right?"

"Yes, I promise."

Shad raised his glass again, and the three of them clinked glasses. As Tifa poured Shad more red wine, Shad let out a long sigh, not wanting to discuss such an unpleasant topic any further.

"Actually, I've also run into a problem recently. I'm telling you, but please don't tell Lacey."

Meghan was very curious:

"Is there something you can't tell her? Oh, it's about Adelina?"

She immediately guessed the truth. Xia De nodded, half amused and half indignant, and said:

"For some reason, Adelina actually thinks I like girls with big tails."

Then he saw Tifa's hand tremble as she poured the wine, and Galina and Megan chuckled.

"That's not really wrong, is it?"

Jialina said that Shad's words swept away the somewhat oppressive atmosphere that had been sitting at the table:

"And it's not shameful at all. Liking Argonian maids is a fetish that has been recorded since the Second Age. If there weren't so few texts about the First Age, I think we would definitely have found that there were quite a few people in the First Age who shared the same fetish as you."

"No, no, I didn't."

The outsider vehemently denied it:

“I admit that dragon girls like Fiona are very attractive to me, but that’s definitely not because of their big tails.”

"So what's the reason? Horns, or wings? It can't be that you like the feel of scales, can it?"

Megan joked, and Shad quickly shook his head:

"Of course not, I just simply like pretty girls."

He reiterated his true preferences, causing even the other maids serving nearby to hold back their laughter, while the two witches were particularly delighted.

"We should be angry to hear things like that, but we're actually happy. Shad, how did you go from being so dull to being like this?"

Galina tilted her head slightly as she looked at his handsome face:

"Compared to your rapid progress in level and strength over the past two years, what surprises me most is your improved ability to deal with girls."

The candlelight dinner lasted until eight o'clock, after which Shad suggested that since the garden scenery was so beautiful that evening, why not have a few dances? So the table was cleared, and the multi-talented maids formed a band to accompany Shad and the witches.

Are you a little disappointed?

During a break from dancing, Galina quietly asked Shad a question.

"What's disappointing?"

"We're disappointed that the two of us didn't prepare some delicious desserts for you in the way Margaret did."

Megan heard what Galina said and then spoke up as well.

Xia De had guessed that they would bring up this topic:

"I'm not particularly looking forward to that kind of thing, so please don't misunderstand me."

The great witches all laughed, clearly not believing it.

The dancing under the stars was the prelude to tonight's "formal" activities, followed by a shared bath, playful moments in the tub, frolicking in the Duchess's bedroom, and the meowing sounds like cats at midnight—all extensions of the evening's festivities. Evenings with the Edwards ladies never bored Shad, and in the grand suburban estate, Galina was more uninhibited than ever before in her "frolicking."

Although he wasn't staying at home, Shad felt just as relaxed at Galina's estate. After midnight, Galina and Megan were both fast asleep, and as Shad lay between them, staring at the ceiling, he thought that it wasn't so bad to relax like this on weekends sometimes.

Do you need me to sing you a lullaby tonight?

"She" asked gently, and Shad refused:

“I had a nightmare last night, but Garina and Megan helped me get some rest today, and I’m fine now.”

He closed his eyes:

Goodnight.

【Good night.】

It seemed as if someone had kissed the stranger's cheek, and at that moment, he had already fallen into that familiar dream of the silver moon.

(Mia is running.)

After a good rest, Shad greeted the new week with renewed energy. It was the 11th day of the Rain Month, and Margaret was about to embark on her journey to the western front. Shad, too, was about to receive orders from "Grey Gloves" to investigate his original purpose for appearing in Arcadia City—

The whereabouts of the big-billed finches.

The Kingdom Council's morning meeting every Monday was very important, so Galina woke up very early that morning. After breakfast, Shad, along with Mia and the two witches, returned to the city.

After Jialina and Shad kissed goodbye, she had the carriage drop Shad and Megan off at the intersection of St. Teresa's Square. Megan then kissed Shad goodbye again at home, planning to go find Vigo later to look at the alchemy notes in the briefcase left by Miss Ferrenanna.

"Mia, I'm going to Saint Byrons. Do you want to come with me? Ellie and little Leona are going too, along with the other unicorns."

"Meow~"

The cat on his shoulder lazily responded with a soft "hmm," and since it didn't jump down, it clearly meant it was willing to go out together. And as the new week began, Shad naturally didn't forget to try his luck in the [God's Gift Box].

He no longer expected to find items like the "Spark" or the "Seed of Life." When he reached into the box, he just hoped that this week's gift wouldn't be an ordinary, worthless item.

Then he touched something round and plump, and it actually contained elements:

"This is."

Shad pulled out a red apple, and both he and the cat on his shoulder sniffed it lightly, both catching a rich, milky scent.

"This is... a cream apple?"

This sounds like some kind of dish, but it's actually a genuine relic of a poet. A cow born during the sowing and rain-praying months, when there are no starlit nights, has a very small chance of giving birth to an apple along with its calf if it ate at least ten whole apples during pregnancy and there is an apple orchard around its calving site.

This apple looks exactly like a normal apple, but it has a very strong milky aroma. The relic's characteristics are also very simple: for a period of time after eating the apple, any liquid consumed will be perceived as milk, and even the perception of liquids will be that of milk.
