Chapter 4113 Screams in the Rain
Chapter 4113 Screams in the Rain
Chapter 4113 Screams in the Rain
The great witches, each with their own distinct expression, followed Galina, with Miss Lorraine leading the way. Agelina, however, did not follow. She politely thanked the maid who offered her a towel and then stood in the foyer, surveying the place.
"Your Highness, shall I take you to your room now?"
Miss McDonald then asked, using honorifics, since she was now just an ordinary witch follower, while Adelina was an apprentice trainee, the great witch's grandniece, and a genuine princess.
Adelina then smiled sweetly:
“Are you Miss Eve MacDonald? No need to be so polite. You've been studying under Professor Astley for a long time; I should be the one being polite to you. Please just call me by my name. I'm at your beck and call, whatever you say.”
Miss MacDonald's fondness for the young princess grew considerably.
"Then let's go visit the teacher. I hope the teacher is alright."
She had the other maids take Adelina's maid and luggage to her room, while she herself led Adelina through the dining room and along the awakening corridor toward the foyer. The group ahead walked quickly, so the tall girl and the little princess lagged far behind.
"So, Adelina, you've known him for a long time, haven't you?"
“Shad? Yes, we’ve known each other for a long time.”
The tall girl thought of that question again. Adelina had acted very well-behavedly and seemed to have a gentle temperament, so she asked:
"Would you mind sharing that? What is your relationship with him?"
Adelina blinked and quickly chose a suitable answer:
"He is my brother-in-law."
"I see, brother-in-law. Hmm?"
Remembering what she had just learned, the girl with long rose-gold hair suddenly turned around and looked at her. The little princess then pretended to be confused and asked:
"What's wrong?"
The witches who had gone ahead had already reached the door of the master bedroom on the second floor via the stairs. For privacy, the master bedroom was very soundproof, so Galina was sure that the people inside had no idea that so many people had come to the door.
However, those outside the door naturally had no idea what was happening inside.
Seeing Jialina's expectant look, no one wanted to spoil her mood, especially since many were also looking forward to Wei Ge's performance. So the Duchess paused at the door, straightened her clothes, and adjusted her expression.
She stopped Miss Rowling from knocking on the door. The housekeeper was worried that her mistress would be very unhappy, but she was powerless to disobey the Great Witch's orders.
"Very well, then I'll open the door."
Galina addressed her colleagues, took a deep breath, smiled, turned the doorknob, and opened the door.
To make her appearance more dramatic, she rushed in without even carefully observing the room after opening the door, and the witches behind her followed suit, with Miss Rowling also being swept inside.
Then, everyone was stunned.
Her fair back was turned away from the doorway, her long black hair swaying with each step. Vigo Astley tilted her head back, her hands resting on Shad's chest, displaying the demeanor of a female knight.
Hearing the sound at the door, she turned slightly, but showed no embarrassment whatsoever due to the situation. She was clearly still somewhat disoriented, even smiling at everyone at the door:
"Good afternoon, it's Galina~ You can wait outside for a bit, or you can stand here, I have some things to do."
"what!"
Galina's piercing scream seemed capable of shattering all the rain clouds above the city.
Miss McDonald and Adelina, who were going up the stairs, also heard the noise and hurried up. They saw the Great Witches go into the bedroom, so they followed them in.
Adelina was relatively short, and could only be seen through gaps in the crowd.
So she saw what her future teacher was doing, and the little princess felt a slight pang in her heart, yet also a strange sense of excitement:
"This Ms. Astley is really brave; she can handle so many people."
Then she realized that something was wrong with the location. Based on her experience of spying at night many times, she realized that the other person was still the kind of girl that Ellie, who stayed on the ship, would like. At this moment, she was just dawdling and playing around.
Adelina couldn't help but underestimate her a little, after all, her sister and great-aunt had both gone to the very end. But then she felt admiration for her, as Viggo Astley stood up high and found her place.
"You can't do this! Stop her!"
Galina and the other witches all pounced on her, and Shad, who hadn't originally intended for Vigo to do this while she was unconscious, naturally tried to stop them.
So Viggo's huge bed was thrown into chaos. Miss Rowling and Miss McDonald stood dumbfounded in the doorway, watching the mess and not knowing what they could do.
Only Adelina calmly observed everyone's actions. She saw her great-aunt desperately pulling Viggo Astley away, saw someone taking advantage of Shad, saw Claire Reinhardt from the snow mountain clearly the most embarrassed one, and saw Shad trying to get out of bed but being pushed back down by everyone.
So, on Adelina's first day in Arcadia, Vigo's large bed proved invaluable. The little princess believed she had indeed come to the right place; upon their first meeting, she was certain that her future teacher was a witch no less powerful than her great-aunt, and she felt she had already learned a great deal from her future teacher.
Galina's roar and Viggo's giggles became a fitting footnote to this "light comedy" on a rainy Wednesday afternoon.
Galina may suffer psychological trauma from this for a long time.
Vige's current condition is not caused by any drug. It stems from a deep-seated desire, triggered by "desire," and there is no particularly good way to resolve it except by venting it. That's why Shade had Vige do some slightly excessive things to alleviate it. More importantly, he discovered that having Vige continuously suck his blood helped alleviate her condition.
However, now that the great witches have appeared, they naturally won't allow Vige to do that anymore.
After Galina and Sylvie worked together to subdue the incredibly strong Vigo, the witches discussed the matter and then dragged her into the [Witch Council].
When they emerged from the council chamber, making a ruckus, Vigo had already returned to normal thanks to the cleansing power of the ancient gods. It was nearly evening, and the rain was still falling. Miss Rowling had the kitchen prepare dinner for the great witches.
Shad had already changed out of the clothes that someone had ruined, but he wasn't at Fragrant Mansion at the moment. Instead, he had returned to Topeske to find Luvia. He still needed to discuss "Desire's" suggestion and what he had seen in the [Creation Room] that afternoon with Luvia.
However, before leaving, Shade said that he would definitely come back to have dinner with everyone, so although the witches did not see Shade, they were all patiently waiting for him.
Apart from Granny Cassandra, all the witches Shad knew had gathered together. Viggo, now back to normal, was still somewhat dazed. Although she was grateful for everyone's help, when her consciousness returned in the council chamber, she actually wished she could just faint on the spot.
She clearly remembered what she had just done. Although she was usually quite bold with Xia De, such a bold move was a bit too much for a lady from a prestigious family. And thinking about how she felt just now, she found it hard to imagine how Xia De would view her in the future.
The nine witches gathered in the study on the second floor of the Fragrant Mansion, each with something to say. Regarding what had just happened in the bedroom, the ladies, who were jointly keeping the secret about "Shad," each had different thoughts.
Therefore, when someone landed on the terrace outside the study, pushed open the terrace door and entered the study, they were met with a very strange scene.
Jialina and Weige sat together on the sofa. Weige looked like she had lost all hope in life and had no will to live. Jialina had a cold face and seemed angry at someone. Xiwei also sat with them, smiling and talking to them, but Weige and Jialina ignored her.
Vanessa sat on a short sofa to one side, whispering with Megan, who was sitting on the armrest. They were probably talking about something private; the fox-like expressions on their faces suggested they weren't discussing anything serious.
Bella and Sylvia weren't at the coffee table. The Countess of Moon Bay was at the desk with Margaret's math teacher, looking at the frontline intelligence that Vigo had gathered. This information was very valuable to both Moon Bay and Velendale.
Flora and Claire were opposite Vanessa and Megan, but instead of sitting down, they stood by the wall and looked up at the antique oil painting on it. However, the artist and the witch under the snow mountain did not seem to be talking about the painting.
Their voices were a little louder, and someone walking in from the terrace could hear them; they were talking about how they hadn't been so bold back then.
The rain that began falling in the early morning had turned into a downpour by evening. Just as the terrace door opened, a clap of thunder flashed outside the window, drawing the attention of the ladies inside. They then saw a newly appeared figure outlined in white light.
The figure in question was none other than Xia De, whom they knew.
A muffled rumble of thunder echoed slowly over the city after the lightning had vanished. Amidst the rumbling thunder, Galina and Vige, having clearly recognized who it was, immediately stood up:
"Your Excellency the Speaker!"
