Chapter 4060 Eyes

Chapter 4060 Eyes

Chapter 4060 Eyes

Upon hearing Shad's affirmative answer, Dorothy and Lacey exchanged a glance:

"The red moonlight can protect the 'spark of life' to a certain extent, right?"

"Yes."

"Is it possible to create the 'Spark' by breaking away from the system of death and creation, without physical glasses or any form of eyes, but instead using the red moonlight belonging to the ancient Moon Sages?"

Lacey asked, but Shad didn't answer immediately. Instead, he raised his left hand and summoned moonlight once more. This time, he formed a small sphere of red moonlight in his left hand and tried his best to compress the light using the light control ability he had gained from the blessing.

After the ball of light floating in his left hand shrank to the size of a pigeon egg, Shad controlled the life force in his right hand to slowly float over. Once they made contact and merged, Shad used both hands to protect the small ball of light on either side, while Dorothy, Lacey, and Mia watched curiously.

Without a "spark" as a medium, achieving a stable fusion of two energies while using a large amount of spirit is not easy. The entire fusion process lasted five minutes, during which the color of the red light changed multiple times from crimson to various shades such as azure red and blood red, which in itself was a symbol of instability.

But eventually the red light faded, leaving only small fragments of moonlight drifting down. These life-giving fragments were blown by Shad onto Mia on the table; they were of little use to humans.

"The life-spark can only exist for a limited time. If a stable container cannot be formed before the spark disappears, this is the consequence."

"But at least it proves that this approach is feasible. Shad's spirit is sufficient, but it is not enough to make a large amount of moonlight, after being compressed, exist stably together with the spark of life."

Dorothy said, and Shad then shared his earlier thoughts:

"The spark of life has already shown its uniqueness in terms of flesh, mechanics, and energy. Do you remember what I did in 1853 when I used energy to shape flesh and blood to interfere with reality?"

Lacey answered almost immediately:

“A new eye was created for Iluna. It was the moon goddess you summoned who used her power to create that sacrificed eye for her.”

"Yes, my own moonlight certainly cannot compare to that kind of power. But not long ago, when I used the 'Spark Source' as the core to construct a body to rescue Vige, I proved that even ordinary energy can construct a near-physical existence."

Shad summoned the red moonlight again, causing it to form the shape of an eye in his palm. But this was merely a non-physical eye, almost like an illusion, utterly incapable of bearing life force.

"Simply having energy is definitely not enough; you also need a powerful soul force and a rich and colorful spiritual force. When these three elements are harmonized, perhaps one day in the future I will be able to create the source of fire simply by using the crimson moonlight."

Neither Lacey nor Dorothy thought Shad was bragging; they laughed.

"Mechanical, flesh and blood, energy—these may be the three paths that the chosen ones can choose, but it is unknown which path they will ultimately choose."

“We don’t have enough clues yet, so it’s hard to say. Vigo’s mother is a suspect, I’m almost certain there’s a suspect among the church’s traitors, and there should be at least one suspect among those three illegal organizations.”

Xia De looked out the window at the night scene:

"My biggest hypothetical enemy right now is that 'Abomination' from the [Holy Son Alliance]. Even if other forces create some kind of life, they probably won't be more terrifying than that 'Abomination'."

Lacey revealed a gentle expression:

"If this enemy were just a strange life form created by mortals, Shad, wouldn't you feel less pressure?"

"But is it really that simple?"

The girls stood up from their chairs:

"Don't think too much about it. At least tonight, Shad, you don't have to feel any pressure. Night class is over. We hope you enjoy the program we have prepared for you."

They walked around the table from both sides, bent down together, and kissed Shad on both cheeks:

"Shad, happy Saturday."

Lacey and Dorothy had always tried to reinforce the impression in Shad's mind that "Saturday nights are peaceful nights." Shad himself admitted that they had been very successful; after nearly two years of adaptation and getting used to it, he was in a good mood every Saturday.

That evening, the princess, the writer, and Shad danced a threesome tango together again. In his dream that night, as Shad stood on a field ridge beneath a vast starry sky, gazing up at the silver moon, a strange thought suddenly occurred to him:

"When I look at this moon, is the moon also looking at me?"

[A very romantic idea.]

She answered softly in the gentle night breeze.

"If the moon is also looking at me, then is it also an eye?"

Shad asked the same question again because of recent events, and "she" smiled gently, answering the question with a question:

If these were eyes, would you prefer this one, or Luvia Anastasia's purple eyes?

In his dream, Shad laughed, raising his right hand as if trying to grasp the silver moon:

"Now I'm probably qualified to say this—I want it all."

After a peaceful Saturday, Sunday was the third day of the month. Early that morning, after seeing off Lacia and Adelina, who was yawning and clearly hadn't slept well, Shad went downstairs to get the newspaper and goat's milk and saw Miss Gord's letter.

"Mia, Miss Gao De has written again."

Shad turned to the cat standing on the stairs and spoke, but the cat didn't care and just stared at the goat milk bottle in Shad's hand.

After spring arrived, not much happened in Miss Gao De's hometown town. The outbreak of the Civil War seemed to have a comprehensive impact on the situation in the Old World, but for the remote town on the East Coast, it was just news from afar.

Years of population decline had led to recruiters not even bothering to visit the dilapidated town. Miss Gode wrote in her letter that she was looking forward to future veterans joining her town as adventurers; she was truly short-handed.

"Just how big is Miss Gao De's family's town? It's been two years, and she's still exploring those old family territories?"

Shad was puzzled by this, so Dorothy explained it to the "uninformed" outsider:

“While city nobles like Lacia generally think that country nobles are unsophisticated, those people actually wield considerable power in their own territories. Wealthy and powerful country nobles generally like to acquire large estates and manors for themselves, and land prices in the countryside are much cheaper than in the surrounding areas of Topsk.”

"That Miss Gao's family controls an entire town. According to you, almost all the industries in the town are built around her family, so it's normal for them to have a large territory."

While preparing breakfast, Dorothy asked Shad:

"I remember last year you planned to visit that remote town many times. Why don't you have that idea this year?"

"Miss Gaode already visited here before the year-end holiday, so there's no need for me to go see her separately."

Shad explained, setting aside the 10-pound note that had accompanied the letter:

“There must have been a ring sorcerer among her ancestors. We have found many remarkable things in her family’s old territory, such as the golden lion armor and the manuscript of the ‘Ring of Ritual’ from a while ago.”

Dorothy then casually asked:

"So, did she send you a new souvenir this time?"

After reading the letter in the envelope about his recent situation, Xia De thought he would write a reply when he got home that evening.

"No, but Miss Gaode reminded me that spring is coming soon, and two-year-old Xiaomia may be going into heat."

"Based on Lacia's understanding of pet cats, she should have reminded you last spring."

Dorothy placed the scrambled eggs in front of Shad, and then the hot goat's milk in front of Mia. She wiped her hands with the towel draped over the back of the chair, then looked at the cat who was drinking the goat's milk with its head down:

“I feel that it hasn’t changed at all since I first saw Miria in 1853.”

"It's probably because of my bloodline and the influence of the various extraordinary powers I've come into contact with."

“Shad, I don’t feel that you’ve changed much in the last two years.”

"This is probably due to the influence of supernatural power. Look at Galina and the others, aren't they very young-looking because of the witch's power? Oh, I don't need to say that to Galina again."

Dorothy smiled, sat down next to Shad, and took the bread that had been placed on the table earlier:

“I have a strange feeling that Mia will also display some amazing power because of Arcadia.”

A worried expression then appeared on Xia De's face:

"Just like during the Battle of Moon Bay, you'll transform into the form of a golden lion again, right?"

"Actually, everyone says that it's because the Golden Giant Cat has enough life energy plus the Philosopher's Stone that it might be able to do it again. Speaking of which, when you were fighting the Fallen Star Beast in Fallen Star Bay, Xiaomia also transformed once. So, it seems like Xiaomia's ability to transform into the Golden Giant Cat is becoming an inherent ability~"

According to the Moon Mark's perception, Megan was still in Arcadia City this morning, and Adele in the present world was probably having breakfast there as well. So after having breakfast at home, Shad didn't rush to see Viggo, but instead went to St. Byron's again.

The academy was holding an academic meeting on Sunday morning, so Shad didn't see Danist. However, he did run into Emilia, who happened to be working as an assistant librarian in the library, and Ellie, who had brought her fellow unicorns to read books.

A large group of short, white-haired unicorn girls, each with a few strands of dyed hair, occupied the east side of the innermost long table in the library's study area, diligently writing course reports or reading obscure and difficult books.
