Chapter 3793 The Apple and the Snake's Eyes

Chapter 3793 The Apple and the Snake's Eyes

The apple lying on the snow glowed faintly in the wind and snow. Its curved nature had not changed. The apple was still destined to remain frozen in time. Only its appearance and shape had changed under the influence of Ellie's talent.

Even so, this ability to reshape solidified destiny is terrifying. Even Luvia here would likely be astonished by this sight. Destiny is a circle because the god of destiny is an ouroboros. And now that destiny can be transformed into an apple, perhaps it means…

Ellie, however, didn't care about anything else. When she looked up and saw that the apple had actually appeared, she happily meowed and asked Mia if she wanted something to eat. After receiving a disapproving meow, Ellie ate the curved, glowing apple herself—something no one else could do.

Ellie's ring of destiny reappeared, and a brand new spirit rune, Blasphemy - [Freeze], was inscribed on it. This spirit rune was completely consistent with the fate represented by the arc.

The little unicorn was quite satisfied with this, but the "meow" from above made her turn around and look at the rock wall whose ice she had just knocked down.

The white mist formed by the falling ice and snowflakes had disappeared, and huge golden serpentine runes were clearly visible on the smooth cliff face.

Although Ellie didn't know what it was, she could sense that the rune was older than the oldest bloodline memories she possessed, and more mysterious than the most mysterious stories she had ever heard from Chloe.

At that moment, Ellie understood that her and Mia's actions that evening were to break similar rune seals in the thirteen snow-capped mountains. So, after letting out a loud "Roar!" and raising her unicorn horn, Ellie, carrying the cat, crashed into the rock wall once more.

With a cracking sound that could be heard by all the ring mages in the entire Falling Star Bay, the ancient serpentine rune vanished under the impact of the unicorn's horn.

Without warning, an earthquake shook the island and the seabed. The mermaid maidens scattered throughout the bay were horrified to discover black cracks appearing on the seabed. Something enormous, suppressed beneath Falling Star Bay, trembled once more after hundreds of thousands of years, as the first seal shattered.

The night sky grew increasingly chaotic, beyond the comprehension of even the most skilled astrologers. Snowflakes drifted outside the windows of the Drowned Ghost Tavern, the girls aboard the Radiant Messenger wore solemn expressions, figures moved in and out of the city's church, and the prophets of the Prophet's Guild attempted to decipher new destinies through the cracks in their crystal balls.

Countless eyes were now fixed on the majestic snow-capped mountain, sensing the terrifying power unleashed in an instant by the horrific fate sealed by the ancient god. A ring sorcerer with sufficiently high perception could even hear a snake's hiss as they closed their eyes, signifying that even more of Mr. Snake's power was pouring forth from the seal.

As the night grew darker and the snowstorm intensified, the "beast" that emerged from the darkness by fate, now tainted with the destiny of doomsday, charged toward the stage of the seventh act of the story.

However, all of this was temporarily irrelevant to Ellie. As she landed, the golden light emanating from the shattered serpentine rune fell upon her and Mia. The cat showed little interest in the light, and as the concentrated element of miracles entered Ellie's body, her still-intact life ring silently transformed into a second ring.

After the runes were broken, the power of the ancient god was bestowed upon the little unicorn. She slowly lay down on the snow, closed her eyes, and felt this new power. She knew she had become much stronger, and more adept at using the power gained through their interconnected destinies.

Of course, Ellie had no idea what kind of consequences her actions had caused.

In the snowy mountain hall of the town of Kyle-Todd, which was under martial law tonight, Bella, who had rushed over from the ship after receiving Claire's message, was about to ask Claire if she had really found the [Ouroboros Eye] when she saw Claire, Elder Harald, and Elder Vilda looking solemnly in the direction of the snowy mountain.

"what happened?"

Bella asked, and Claire shook her head:

"I had a very strange feeling just now, as if a nail stuck in the snow mountain had been pulled out, making the snow mountain even more..."

"It's real, and the spirituality of the snow mountain has become easier to touch; the power of the snow mountain is being unleashed. As the terrifying being sealed by the ancient god is freed, the snow mountain, no longer needing to seal it, will be able to draw more power from it."

Elder Harald added to Claire's statement, and Claire nodded hesitantly:

“It seems someone made a crucial move during the card game at the tavern. I wonder how Mother is doing, Bella. Take a look at this. My mother-in-law and I think this might be the [Ouroboros Eye].

She opened the box on the long table, inside which was a pebble-shaped ice crystal. The ice crystal emanated a chill and possessed an exceptionally powerful element of wonder.

Elder Vilda, wearing a ram's horn hat, introduced the woman to the Great Witch of Fate:

"This is our Fatu people's sacred object - Ice Jade, also known as Snake Jade. Some time ago, we communicated with our distant relatives in the far north. We learned that this Ice Jade was not brought from the far north by our ancestors. Therefore, it is a sacred object that our ancestors obtained after settling in this place."

This relic can display the ring sorcerer's rank information upon touching it, and, after using certain methods, can even guide their destiny. The Summoner once touched this relic and gained much from it.

The witches all knew about this. Bingyu had given them a clue about the sublimation of Xia Degao's words, which was falling from the snow mountain (Chapter 3268).

Thinking about this, Bella felt that this ice jade was probably the artifact she and Luvia were looking for. Shad had mentioned this item many times, but before that, no one had realized the secret it might hold.

Of course, whether it truly is the [Ouroboros Eye] still needs verification. Bella took out a heart-shaped ruby, the [Serpent Heart] from the temple's exchange list. Holding the [Serpent Heart] in one hand and touching the ice jade with the other, she carefully cast a spell. An icy hue appeared on the surface of the Serpent Heart in her left hand, while a crimson hue emerged on the ice jade in her right hand.

"Yes, this is the divine artifact left behind by the God of Destiny - the Ouroboros Eye!"

Bella hadn't expected to find the artifact so easily. After consulting the elders, she decided to bring it back to the ship. Claire, on the other hand, would have to stay in the Snow Mountain Hall for a while. To distract the enemy, Mr. Snake would definitely manipulate "beasts," demons, and other things to attack the town. Claire would need to coordinate the subsequent defensive forces here.

Besides the Fatu people themselves, Claire's followers and some elves will also participate in the battle to defend the town. At this moment, the pointy-eared elf archers have already climbed the towers and wooden walls surrounding the town, the witch's followers are making a final check on the security of the defense ritual, and the Fatu priests are trying to borrow more power from the snow mountain.

Just as Ellie shattered the first seal, at the card table in the Drowned Ghost Tavern at the Time Wheel City docks, the game had already entered its third round. Those who had finally managed to guide their characters into the snowy mountain area and were pondering how to use their decks to fight in the next round of battle all heard a clear clanging sound.

A golden stream of light emerged from the void, then condensed into a gold coin that fell from the sky to the center of the card table, jingling for several seconds before finally coming to a stop. Shad's dynamic vision was excellent; he was certain this was no coin he recognized.

This wasn't even a coin of monetary value; in Shad's view, it was a condensation of the power of the ancient gods. Not some supreme power like "divinity," but a crystallization of miraculous elements, which he guessed should be useful to Ms. White.

The five people were whispering and discussing their strategy. Although they were strangers and competitors, they were ordinary people after all. They quickly became familiar with each other and were willing to offer each other advice and guess what would happen next.

The atmosphere at the card game was actually quite nice. Compared to the characters in the story who were now braving the wind and snow to enter the mountains at night, the players were in a warm and comfortable environment, and there were drinks, snacks, and even desserts on the table—provided by Ms. White.

They all looked at Ms. White, who then stood up and took the gold coin.

"The first of the thirteen seals has been released, the story progresses forward, and the stage has changed—the probability of characters encountering enemies during their actions has slightly increased, and the effects of using power related to fate will be more pronounced. The probability of snake-type enemies appearing has increased, and the probability of obtaining the special item 'Curved Arc' after defeating any enemy has increased."

"But our five characters are only the sixth to enter the mountains. Has that unicorn broken the first seal?"

Prince Samuel Anjou guessed, and Lady White nodded, placing the gold coin beside her hand:

"Yes, so there are only twelve sealing positions left for you. The total number of valid cards you have played has reached twelve. So before the next round of play, I will draw and use a card for the sixth character in the story."

She flipped over the top card of the deck, glanced at it, and then tossed it onto the table so that all the players could see what was on it:

"【Aid/Partner】: Select a companion weaker than your character to join your adventure. This is both an opportunity and a danger. Companions are not protected by fate, and whether the help they bring outweighs the trouble they cause is also a mystery from fate."

Ms. White did not tell the players what kind of companion Ellie had gained. Although Shad was very worried, he could only take care of Stella's matter for the time being.
