Chapter 3631 Spoiler
Fine snowflakes drifted down under the starry sky, and Stella rose into the air. She closed her eyes and opened her arms wide under the stars, and icy blue light streaks flew from her chest, eventually forming a huge emblem of the [Winter Maiden] beneath her feet.
Miss Elsa Asperger looked up at this moment:
"Perhaps this is why she was able to touch the sacred object back then."
Matilda, who also did not join the battle, looked at the stone tablet she had temporarily kept from the tomb and was quite surprised to find that the tablet was resonating with the light of the ancient sacred emblem that was now appearing.
Then, the stone slab whooshed out of her grasp and flew towards Stella in the air. The icy blue stone slab hovered at Stella's chest, amplifying the residual power of the ancient sacred artifact she was currently wielding.
The surge of power made Stella's white hair grow longer, and a meteor falling from the high sky silently arrived above Stella's head, carrying a power that seemed capable of destroying everything.
Xia De felt as if he had understood something from the trajectory of the falling star.
The next moment, the falling star collided with the icy blue light above Stella's head, and the phantom of the icy blue sacred shield that enveloped the battlefield was fully unfolded.
Shad never knew what Stella had touched back then, but the Winter Singer knew the truth: it was the shield used by the cruel god of winter, a divine artifact forged from indifference and loneliness that symbolized "never melting".
boom!
The flash of white light even forced Shad to close his eyes, and the violent shaking of the ground made him wonder if the world would be destroyed because of this collision.
Stella, suspended in mid-air, almost completely depleted the abundant spiritual energy she had just replenished. If it weren't for the power provided by the floating stone slabs in front of her, she would have thought she would have completely disappeared in the collision of the stars.
Even so, amidst the loud noise, her body fell downwards like a leaf in the wind, only to be caught in a gentle embrace before hitting the ground.
"Silly girl, why are you working so hard? You're not the only one here."
As Claire spoke, she grabbed the fallen stone slab again and flew away from the center of the explosion with Stella.
Shad didn't go far; instead, after regaining his footing, he found his coat. Then, staring at the scorching storm and chaotic traces of the explosion's epicenter, he knew the Fallen Beast wouldn't be defeated by this single impact.
Just as Shad had expected, the world remained unchanged after the explosion. The stars still twinkled against the night sky, and even the thin layer of water on the ground was unchanged.
The black behemoth lay curled up in the water, its ability to transform into a star and fall again clearly having caused it considerable damage. At this moment, a third of the beast's horn had shattered again, its body had shrunk to a whole size, and its armor, once wrapped in starlight, was now tattered and even showed signs of frost.
Shad knew this was the best opportunity. He summoned the Moonlight Greatsword and charged toward the temporarily immobilized beast together with the staggering Mr. Mortis.
But at that moment, with a clear cracking sound, the distant end of the starry sky was damaged by the violent impact, and a group of people took this opportunity to come to this world.
But that wasn't the Church of the True God's group.
After learning that the Callers of Gods had discovered the secret of the "Circle of War," the tyrannical cultists, fearing the power of the Callers of Gods, had no choice but to seek help from other forces. However, this also led them to have other ideas besides keeping the "Circle of War" for themselves.
At this moment, entering this area from other passages was a joint force composed of the [Tyranny Club], the [Cult of Doom], and the [Society of Unity], with a number of people roughly the same as Shad's group.
They were equally astonished by the magnificent world beneath the starry sky before them, but the leaders immediately noticed the situation in the center of the battlefield:
"They're about to succeed! Stop them! The Summoner is injured too, don't be afraid of him, let's attack together!"
Several figures soared into the air and launched an attack from mid-air. However, they were not attacking Shad or Mr. Mortis; these followers of the God of Misfortune and the God of Curse were targeting the wounded behemoth.
After all, their primary goal is not to gain destiny, but to help the candidate they support gain more points.
Shad recognized many of those who launched the attack, such as the "priest" who was severely wounded by the demon and had clearly not fully recovered; and the priests of the Order of Doom, whom Shad had dealt with in the city.
This must be the candidate from the [Cult of Doom] who has yet to appear, but Shad didn't have time to identify who it was, because at this moment, they absolutely could not allow their attacks to hit the heavily wounded behemoth.
Stella has temporarily left, leaving only two people on the central battlefield. Adding in the cultists, the number of people on the battlefield now exceeds double digits.
Mr. Mortis was clearly aware of this as well:
"Summoner, I'll hold off their attack. You act quickly!"
The injured man immediately cast a spell to try to intercept these ranged attacks, while the witch followers on the outskirts of the central battlefield also cast spells to try to stop these attacks. Although Miss Asperger was far away from the people who had just entered this area, she raised her hand and used an ice storm to form a curtain of ice and snow in the air.
These methods should have worked, but instead, the pale-faced "priest" with the unique hairstyle wrote the words on the paper.
Thus, among the various attacks flying in from the distant sky, a few fireballs actually "luckily" brushed past the interception magic, and even passed through the curtain of ice storms.
Mr. Mortis used magic to block them, but he was injured after all, and he managed to block three of the five fireballs that flew towards him.
The remaining two fireballs were intercepted by Shad with "Shadow Ball" before they could actually land, as Shad was fighting the giant beast that had stood up again but was quite unstable.
Although he was casting a spell in the air with his left hand while turned to the side, he was still resisting the gravity effect exerted by the behemoth, and was using his right hand to cleave out moonlight in an attempt to further destroy the starlight armor on its body.
He thought that stopping the two fireballs would be enough, but the next second, a massive repulsive force pushed him and Mr. Mortis nearly a hundred meters apart. The behemoth's body suddenly swelled, and its regenerated horn shattered the moonlight.
The eyes of the rhinoceros-like behemoth were originally dark gold, like the stars, but as dense elements and starlight spread from its body, and rings of white energy surged around it, its eyes turned golden.
"Phase four? Why? We're not in phase four yet."
Whether or not someone participated in an attack on it is not determined by whether the attack actually touched it.
She explained gently, but this time, Shad couldn't relax because of her voice:
"These idiots!"
He rarely swore, but he did. He didn't know what methods the cultists possessed, but their overall strength was definitely no match for his group. He wasn't even sure if they could win after forcibly putting the Fallen Star Beast into a berserk state.
The behemoth beneath the stars did not continue to grow larger than the third stage form, but the blackness of its body became almost blending into the night background, and then the starlight within its black body began to twinkle.
Its appearance still resembles that of a "one-horned rhinoceros," but its skin color is becoming increasingly similar to that of the deep starry sky.
Now that the cultists had launched their attack, Shad grabbed Mr. Mortis and flew rapidly toward Emilia.
The cultists, lacking sufficient information and having missed the previous battle, were completely unaware of the current situation. Seeing the two figures beside the giant beast leave, they continued to cast their spells on the beast from what they considered a safe distance.
"hold head high!"
The suction force instantly brought them to the vicinity of the behemoth, where they were pressed firmly to the ground by gravity. Then, as the behemoth stomped the ground, dozens of star-blue meteorites rose from the ground and bombarded them.
More members of the Order of All Things and the Order of Doom joined the battle in an attempt to save their comrades, but this only made the beast even more ferocious.
Unbeknownst to them, the members of the Tyranny Club who had accompanied them made no move whatsoever.
"The Summoner was able to severely injure the War Beast in the third stage. Indeed, the starlight is too dim in the face of the moonlight. With the Summoner present, no one here can compete with him. Let's execute the second plan."
The leader stated the responsibilities they had been given:
"Since we can't have it, let's fully unleash the destiny of war. Now that representatives from all the nations of the Old World have gathered on Fatummst Island, this raging fate will surely make this world even more interesting."
The followers of the God of Tyranny numbered seven, a small number within the group comprised of members from the three religious orders. The followers of the God of Misfortune and the God of Curse believed they had secured the tyranny's guidance by promising to "give you the spoils after defeating the Fallen Star Beast; we only want the opportunity to perform." In reality, the latter viewed these believers in fate as being manipulated.
Four of the seven men immediately drew their prepared daggers and stabbed their companions in the chest. As the four men died, a terrifying crimson rippled across the dark skull that the three survivors had removed.
This was not a relic but the remains of some kind of void evil. After its power was activated through sacrifice, the leading 12th-circle warlock hesitated for a moment, then took out a small glass tube with trembling hands.
The glass tube contained a pale yellow liquid, and suspended in the center of the liquid was a drop of jet-black blood. Even the mere removal of this drop of blood caused the other two to immediately change their expressions; the starlight around them vanished completely.
"Wait a minute, what is this evil power? Something's not right. What is this? Wasn't the plan to use the Holy Symbol to imbue the skull with a curse, and then fully activate the power of the War Beast? What are you trying to do?"
But the cultist who had produced the vial of blood was no longer able to answer his companions' questions. A low, hoarse laugh came from his shadow as he reached out and grabbed all six souls of the living and the dead.
After the soul was crumpled into a ball and ignited, he placed it inside the skeleton. As the skeleton's eyes shone with a dark light, a drop of blood was poured onto the top of the skull.
