Chapter 3580 President Adelaide Norman
Chapter 3580 President Adelaide Norman
Chapter 3580 President Adelaide Le Norman
The divine item [Whisper of the Moon] enhances the casting effects of lunar magic. Actively activating it also allows the use of more basic spells such as "Light" and "Exorcism." Adele, who recommended the item to Shad, didn't explain its origin, but Shad guessed it was once the possession of a devout moon worshipper.
But it certainly didn't come from the First Era, since Shad's magic [Ancient Voice] wasn't triggered.
Shad intended to use this to set up a ritual and generate a special material called "Moon Ash" that could enhance time manipulation abilities. However, even if it wasn't used as the core item for the ritual, Shad liked it very much just by wearing it.
This is a rare idea for outsiders who have never liked wearing jewelry.
Reaching out to touch the pendant, he felt a strange coolness. Shad then sat down at the table to test its amplification effect on his magical arts. The effect wasn't nonexistent, but it wasn't particularly noticeable either.
While these items that enhance magical abilities do not have the characteristic of "similar effects cannot be stacked", generally speaking, the effects of items with more obvious characteristics will overlap with the effects of items with less obvious characteristics, causing the latter's effect to be reduced.
That's why the great witch of the moon was willing to make the trade; she clearly had better jewelry. And Shad certainly had something better—the "Moon Tear," a gift from the elves as a token of their alliance, and that earring still adorns his shadow's ear.
So even though he really liked the item, Shadane would still put it in the attic as the core item for the ritual.
Of course, he didn't forget to thank Sylvia:
"Thank you for making the trip."
He gently hugged the young, black-haired witch, who smiled with her lips pursed:
"Don't mention the hardship to me, I'm glad I can help you. Although I'm not at the 12th level like Jialina and the others, it's really convenient for me to stand up in this space."
She did not ask Shad to stay and continue being intimate with her:
"Then you go about your business. I'm also heading back to Velendale. I don't know the current situation in Tobesk, but the atmosphere in Velendale is quite oppressive. Even in the private gatherings of noble ladies, people discuss whose lover has received a conscription notice or whose father has been transferred to the front lines."
She then asked Shad for a kiss as payment for her errand, and as they kissed, Sylvia sat down on the table:
"No, that won't do. I have things to do today. Next time, next time. But your kissing skills are really amazing. It's hard to imagine the summer of 1853 that Galina described."
The only important thing Shad needed to deal with today was meeting with the Prophet's Association. So when he arrived in town in the morning, he found that the elders had no new information. Claire and Stella went to various halls in the snow mountain to help quell the restless elements. Shad then went to the mountainside with Ellie and little Leona. He planned to find a cliff to sit down and practice playing the flute seriously.
Emilia hadn't come over this week, and little Leona seemed to miss her terribly. However, after Shad sat down cross-legged facing the scenery outside the cliff, the unicorn was still very well-behaved and didn't disturb him. It nuzzled against Ellie, who was watching it, and then the small unicorn spread its wings and flew with its companion to Shad's head to play freely.
He didn't return to town until lunchtime, by which time Vanessa had already arrived and was talking to Claire. After lunch, they first met up with Megan, Sylvie, and Miss Eliza, and then, together with more than twenty high-ringed witch followers and two apprentices, set off for the snow mountain.
The agreed meeting time was 1:30 PM, and Shad and his group arrived a little early. After seeing the castle ruins in the distance, nestled in the shadows on the mountainside and built against the mountainside, almost blending into the snow-capped mountain, the boat girl and Megan led the apprentices and other sorceresses to hide in various places as planned, while Shad and the other three great witches walked towards the castle.
When Shad first arrived at the snow mountain and was entrusted by the elders to purify the polluted areas within it, he heard Claire mention this place (Chapter 3262). This castle also originated from the Fifth Era, was built by an unknown witch, and was abandoned in an unknown era.
Although this was Shad's first time inside the castle, Matilda and the others had been here many times while searching in the snowy mountains.
This place was even used as a temporary rest stop for Matilda and her companions during their mountain climb, and they stored a lot of supplies in a corner of the castle.
However, this castle was probably not left by Chloe. The maid Winnie said that Chloe only had a laboratory on the snow mountain and no other secret facilities.
The mountainside is sparsely populated, and the castle's destruction is due to the passage of time and nature. The castle was originally about three times the size of the mountain's main hall, oriented northwest to southeast. Now, the northwest side has completely collapsed, and most of the remaining part of the castle is buried in snow.
When Shad and the three great witches entered the castle, they actually went straight to the second floor. Matilda and the others had already cleared a path upwards while searching the area, but due to the collapse of the walls, the stairs, which were originally indoors, now resembled a makeshift, illegal structure on the exterior of the building.
The castle's original spire was long gone, and the top fourth floor had become an open area without a ceiling. Almost all the remaining rooms on the fourth floor were blocked by rubble, wood, and ice, except for one room that opened outwards and looked normal.
In the center of the room were the remains of the campfire that Matilda and her companions had lit when they last visited. Looking out at the view of the castle from the half-remaining wall of the room, Shad felt that the vast expanse of white snow was somewhat monotonous and not a good place for sightseeing.
"They've arrived, and there are four of them, just like us."
At 1:20 PM, Hivi, his eyes fixed on the south, whispered a reminder. By then, the campfire had been relit, crackling and providing light in the shaded castle, also indicating the location of the prophet's destination.
When the four members of the association arrived, Shad and the witches were waiting for them by the campfire.
The four prophets included the candidate, Elder Zarathustra, whose eyes Luvia described as extraordinary; the current president of the Prophet's Guild, "Mr. Crystal" Adelaide Lenorman, whom Shad was meeting formally for the first time.
As for the remaining two high-ringed diviners, one is the vice president of the local association in Time Wheel City, whom I met in the abandoned seaside village of Shad last time; the other one Shad doesn't recognize, perhaps a diviner from the headquarters of the Prophet Association.
President Adelaide Lenormann appeared to be in her forties, roughly the same age as Dr. Schneider. However, she was slightly thinner, wore a crystal monocle over her right eye, and had a silver pocket watch chain fastened to a button on her chest.
Shad's side appeared to consist of three women and one man, making it easy for the prophets to identify the leader:
"Good afternoon, Summoner. I'm glad you and the witches took the initiative to contact us."
He extended his hand to Shad, and Shad extended his hand in return:
"Good afternoon, Mr. Le Norman. I've always heard that you are the greatest fortune teller of our time, and today I'm finally meeting you in person."
The two exchanged pleasantries, and then Mr. Lenorman introduced the three people he had brought with him. This confirmed Shad's guess about the identity of the only stranger. The other party was also a keeper of secrets at the headquarters of the Prophet's Association, but unlike the retired old man Zarathustra, he was active.
Luvia stated that according to the association's regulations, when the association needs to reveal anything related to sealed prophecies and knowledge, the keeper must appear. The secrets hidden by an organization like the Prophet's Association are unimaginable even to the true Church.
Shad also introduced his three companions, only mentioning that Vanessa and Sylvie were witches, while Claire represented the Fatu people. To avoid being investigated by the prophets, all three were fully prepared to counter the divination.
"I had heard that a new 13th-tier Great Witch had appeared in the Witch Council, but this is our first meeting."
Mr. Renault then greeted Vanessa, but this time he did not extend his hand.
Vanessa nodded indifferently:
"Good afternoon, Mr. Crystal."
After exchanging pleasantries, the two high-ringed fortune tellers from the association, along with Vanessa and Sylvie, left the campfire and went to different locations in the broken wall and at the top of the stairs to look outside and monitor the surroundings.
Shad, Claire, Chairman Le Norman, and Old Man Zarathustra sat down by the fire. Shad took out the eye gem that had turned to stone and handed it to the fortune teller wearing a monocle.
The latter took it and examined it carefully before handing it back to the old man Zarathustra, who said:
"To my eyes, this is a petrified eyeball. It used to be connected to another eyeball, but now it's just stone."
He returned the stone to Shad, who pointed to the patterns on it:
What do you think of the patterns here?
Mr. Lenormann blinked, the crystal lens reflecting a fire that seemed almost within reach:
"Mr. Summoner, do you already know something?"
The form of address was strange, but Shad didn't mind and nodded.
"It's still just speculation, so I'd like to get confirmation from you. I can share the origin of this stone in exchange. The association seems to know the meaning of this symbol and what the snow mountain seals, but you probably don't know much about the current state of the seal and the missing temple, do you?"
To preserve the elder's dignity, Shad once again skipped the beginning of the story and started directly from his own experience of playing cards with someone in the city park.
He even explained the appearance of the Order of Doom that night and admitted that he had received help from the Hermitage in the Woods—the Hermitage had been cooperating with the church in the diocese of Vesta Grove and they had not hidden themselves.
