Chapter 740: Remembering Nothing
Chapter 740: Remembering Nothing
Shen Jue probably didn’t even notice himself that his voice was trembling slightly as he spoke.Rong Qingqing suddenly looked up in the direction where she had just taken the photo, but where was the shadow of that old man now?
"Let’s go, let’s ask in the village." Rong Qingqing dragged Shen Jue and headed back.
Shen Jue was dragged several meters by Rong Qingqing before he slowly came back to his senses. The surprise in his eyes hadn’t faded, and the stormy waves in his heart were beyond description.
"Maybe it’s really just a coincidence that they look alike." Shen Jue stopped and pulled Rong Qingqing back with him, "If it really is my dad, and he’s been alive all this time, there’s no way he wouldn’t have contacted us by now."
"Who knows if there might be another reason in between? Since we’ve encountered this, let’s find out the answer." Rong Qingqing said matter-of-factly, "If we hadn’t met, it would be one thing, but since we have, how could we not ask? Even if they just look the same, that’s still an amazing fate."
"Aren’t you going to take pictures with the meteor?" Shen Jue asked, "You were thinking about that all night last night."
"I can take pictures anytime, the broken earth ball is always there and won’t grow legs and run away, and even if it did grow legs and run, finding this person is more important, isn’t it?"
Rong Qingqing couldn’t care less what Shen Jue was thinking, she hugged his arm and dragged him back to the village.
The village was large, perhaps the villagers liked their own space, so they didn’t cluster together like villages back home. Even in this small fishing village, there was a house every hundred meters or so, each with a front and back yard, occupying quite a bit of land.
Rong Qingqing pulled Shen Jue towards the nearest household. An elderly couple was mending fishing nets in the yard and warmly welcomed them upon seeing them come in.
Thanks to Rong Qingqing’s plentiful knowledge as a top student, she watched Shen Jue purse his lips, deep in thought, and she let go of him to walk in alone.
She handed over the camera and politely asked the elderly couple if they recognized the person in the photo.
The elderly couple took a look and nodded repeatedly.
"He’s like you, with yellow skin and black hair, an Asian, rescued by Captain Jim on the lake. They say that when Captain Jim first rescued him, he was covered in blood and badly injured. Thankfully, Captain Jim had medical training, otherwise, he would not have survived."
The elderly lady said, "He was taken to the hospital by Captain Jim and stayed there for a few days, but because he couldn’t afford the medical bills, he later returned to the village with Captain Jim. Oh, and he had a head injury and couldn’t remember his name or where he was from when he woke up. But he is an incredibly outstanding and upright person."
The elderly gentleman nodded in agreement, "Captain Jim paid quite a bit of his medical bills, and because he couldn’t remember where he was from, he returned with Captain Jim. Due to communication being inconvenient, he still hasn’t figured out how to find his family. But he’s an excellent person — he speaks multiple languages, and he has stayed in our fishing village, working with us to pay back Captain Jim. Sometimes, he even assists Captain Jim on overseas work trips. With him around, Captain Jim’s communication with foreign merchants has become much smoother, and everyone in our village likes him."
