Chapter 447: He Will Marry a Socialite
Chapter 447: He Will Marry a Socialite
Logan Shaw looked deeply at Evelyn Morgan one last time, a mocking smirk tugging at his lips.
He mocked himself for being so pathetic, always being someone who loved without reciprocation.
Taking out the coin Evelyn had given him from his pocket, he held it tightly in his hand, unwilling to let go even though it hurt.
Finally, he found no more air to breathe in this place, turned around, and fled in haste.
The nurse wheeled Caden Lockwood out, still unconscious from the anesthesia.
Evelyn immediately approached, grasping Caden’s hand and feeling the men’s wedding ring; she laughed and cried, thinking she must really be crazy.
But, as long as he’s fine!
His complexion was terrible, his handsome face lifeless, the white sheets covering him concealed the hostility that clung to him, making people ache with sympathy.
"When you wake up, I’ll make you lots of nourishing food, make you healthy and chubby, so your wounds can heal quickly!" Evelyn said softly.
Then, she shook her head and anxiously added, "But maybe not chubby! Just healthy, otherwise it would be a waste of your face and physique."
Listening to Evelyn, the nurse beside her laughed too, saying, "Mrs. Lockwood is really good to Mr. Lockwood!"
Evelyn blushed, instinctively looked back at where Logan Shaw had stood, but he was gone.
She looked around, but saw no sign of Logan Shaw.
Could he have left?
Evelyn took a deep breath; at this moment, she couldn’t worry about too much and could only accompany Caden to the hospital room.
Right now, all her focus was on him!
...
Meanwhile, as soon as Julian Keaton got Cecilia Lynch’s address, he immediately drove to find her.
He was worried his parents might find Cecilia first.
At this time, Cecilia was feeling sensitive, and what his parents might say could really make her decide not to be with him anymore.
Just thinking about the possibility of such a heartbreaking outcome, Julian couldn’t help but press the gas pedal all the way down, the car seeming to fly.
The place where Cecilia was, was a seaside village.
The village only had some elderly people and a few children; the young and strong had all gone to work elsewhere. The village seemed relatively quiet, yet it exuded a tranquility undisturbed by the clamor of the world.
Cecilia was helping with drying seafood at a fishing family by the sea, with room and board included, living comfortably.
In her free time with nothing to do, she would sit on a large reef by the sea, watching the view toward the ocean.
The waves rolled in, one after another, splashing on her legs; she absent-mindedly brushed the water off her legs again and again, as if she had found a fun toy, but her face showed signs of worry.
Having secretly run away to this place, she didn’t know how Julian Keaton was doing.
Would he come looking for her?
Probably!
But, he probably wouldn’t find her.
Cecilia’s heart was filled with profound sadness. Countless times she lamented why she couldn’t be a "rich young lady."
Now, she wasn’t even qualified to pursue a love she desired.
Thinking about it, with time passing, Julian would probably slowly forget her, then listen to his parents and marry some dazzling "rich young lady."
Even just thinking about Julian being with another woman and having children made Cecilia’s heart feel like it was being trampled by countless armies, excruciatingly painful.
At this moment, a child splashed water at Cecilia, laughing innocently and brightly.
"Naughty kid," Cecilia pouted, "I’m not in the mood to play with you right now!"
"Why aren’t you in the mood?" the child asked, "Sister, are you heartbroken?"
