Chapter 474 Long Time No See, Please Drop Your Weapons
Li Mengyao stood there for several more minutes, completely motionless as she silently gazed at Lin Feng’s handsome figure.
Her mind was still struggling to process everything he had just said.
Every word from him carried a strange weight, as though even the simplest sentence contained an invisible pressure that made people instinctively believe him.
The more she thought about it, the more complicated her emotions became.
At first, she had only come here out of curiosity and disbelief. The idea that her proud and noble mother could become involved with a man was already shocking enough.
But after personally meeting Lin Feng, Li Mengyao realized that perhaps no woman in the world could remain completely unmoved before him. In the end, a faint smile slowly bloomed across her face.
She was already a devastating beauty to begin with. Her flawless skin, elegant features, and graceful bearing were enough to make countless men lose themselves with a single glance.
Yet when she smiled, her beauty seemed to ascend to another realm entirely, as though a celestial goddess had descended into the mortal world.
There was an enchanting charm hidden within that smile capable of enslaving the hearts of ordinary men almost instantly. Unfortunately for her, such charm meant very little to Lin Feng.
Lin Feng was simply too extraordinary. His temperament alone already surpassed countless so-called geniuses and young masters she had met before.
Men usually stared at her with greed, desire, admiration, or nervousness hidden in their eyes. Yet Lin Feng had looked at her as calmly as one would look at a passing cloud drifting across the sky.
There was no lust, no excitement, and not even the slightest intention of trying to impress her. It was not because he lacked interest in women.
Rather... it was because women like her were simply too ordinary in his eyes. This realization strangely did not anger Li Mengyao. Instead, it made her even more curious about him.
"I see..." she finally said softly after calming herself. "Thank you for your time, Master Lin Feng." Her tone had unknowingly become much gentler and more respectful compared to before.
Then after hesitating briefly, she gathered her courage and asked the question lingering in her heart.
"May I also see my mother later on?" As she spoke, Li Mengyao carefully observed his expression.
By now, she was already completely convinced that Lin Feng truly loved her mother. Otherwise, why would a supreme existence like him bother speaking to her so patiently?
A man standing at his level could easily ignore the opinions of everyone beneath him. Yet Lin Feng did not act arrogantly or tyrannically despite possessing terrifying power.
That alone made him different from nearly every powerful cultivator she had ever heard of.
"Of course," Lin Feng replied calmly. His voice remained gentle and unhurried, carrying a natural confidence that made people feel at ease.
"This place is as much yours as it is mine. You may come and go freely." Lin Feng slightly nodded his head before continuing,
"There are many empty rooms here as well. If you wish, you may stay the night... or even remain indefinitely." The casual way he spoke those words stunned both sisters slightly.
Remain indefinitely?
Others might not understand the meaning behind such an invitation, but Li Mengyao and Li Zhiyan certainly did. This residence was no ordinary place.
Two grand elders from the Nine Peaks Sword Sect were present here, offering Li Mengyao a rare opportunity to seek their guidance if they were inclined to give it.
She had a strong hunch that her esteemed elders would indeed be willing to spare the time, if only to while away the hours while staying in Lin Feng’s courtyard.
After all, rumors were already swirling that one of those two very elders had recently become one of Lin Feng’s women.
After saying his piece, Lin Feng no longer remained there.
He slowly turned around and walked away with his hands clasped behind his back.
His plain white robes fluttered lightly with each step, giving him the appearance of an immortal scholar who had transcended the mortal world.
Though his clothing appeared simple, when worn by him they carried an indescribable elegance that no luxurious attire could ever imitate.
Under the moonlight, his tall figure seemed almost unreal.
For a brief moment, the two sisters felt as though they were looking at an immortal being walking farther and farther away from the mortal world.
Neither Li Zhiyan nor Li Mengyao spoke.
They simply stood there in silence, staring blankly at Lin Feng’s departing figure until he completely disappeared from sight.
Yet even after he left, the pressure of his presence still lingered heavily in the atmosphere.
It was only after several long moments passed that Li Zhiyan finally released a quiet breath she did not realize she had been holding.
Her chest rose and fell slightly while her beautiful eyes remained filled with shock.
"Big sis..." Li Zhiyan muttered softly before stopping halfway. For once, she could not find the proper words to describe what she felt.
She couldn’t tell her big sister that she also wanted to come back here and live with Lin Feng again.
Li Mengyao meanwhile remained frozen in place. Her thoughts were in complete disorder. Every interaction she had with Lin Feng today kept replaying repeatedly inside her mind.
The more she remembered, the more terrifying he seemed.
His appearance. His temperament. His confidence. His mysterious aura. Everything about him felt perfect to an almost absurd degree.
Li Mengyao had met many talented men before. Young masters from powerful clans, famous geniuses praised throughout entire regions, even arrogant heavenly chosen who believed themselves invincible.
Yet compared to Lin Feng, all of them suddenly seemed laughable. No. They were not even worthy of standing beside him.
At this moment, Li Mengyao finally began to understand why her mother had fallen for him. A man like Lin Feng... Once a woman truly met him, forgetting him would become almost impossible.
A few minutes later, a tearful reunion finally took place in private between the mother and her two beautiful daughters.
