Chapter 1735 - 1174: A Peaceful World (2)
So, they have always believed that humanity is a collective; their common enemy is not one another, but magical creatures.
This notion, accumulated over countless years and reinforced by the governance and promotion from both the Reinnaier clan and the temple, has become deeply ingrained.
Therefore, even after leaving the Akasha continent, and inhabiting this vast expanse of land for eleven thousand years, the humans in the Hidden Land under the temple’s management still adhere to the principles of the Ancient Magic Civilization Period, living peacefully and harmoniously.
There are no chaotic nations here, nor are there any factions engaged in endless intrigue; all people live together peacefully, following the temple’s management, spending these immeasurably long yet happy eleven thousand years.
But Reiger never imagined why the humans in the Hidden Land are peaceful and friendly, yet even the animals in nature are like that?
Surely animals don’t consciously keep peace among themselves?
How would they possibly survive like this?
When Reiger thought about this, Aivy provided the answer.
"Actually, the answer is simple." Aivy said: "Those plants and animals you saw are not naturally evolved organisms, but magically-created artificial life."
Upon hearing this, Reiger might not react, but Liz and Lilith were surprised.
"Magical creatures?"
The two women looked incredulous.
"What else then?" Leo rubbed his reddened nose, tears in his eyes, speaking irritably, "When humanity’s spark fled to the Hidden Land, there was nothing here. If magic were not used for creation, how could there be any creatures here to proliferate besides humans?"
This was originally just another space, devoid of life, and without nature’s sights, only barren land.
During the Ancient Magic Civilization Period, humanity’s last spark took this as a refuge, fleeing here, and under the constraint of being unable to leave, they had to improve the environment to survive.
If there was nothing here, humanity would certainly not survive.
Fortunately, the ancient magic civilization’s knowledge, technology, and power were truly astonishing, for each spark carried complete inheritance of the ancient civilization, possessing advanced magical techniques from the period. Through the shared efforts of generations, they transformed this refuge into a true Hidden Land, creating a paradise.
Thus, everything Reiger and others see now is the crystallization of generations of efforts by survivors of the ancient magical civilization, embodying their dedication and sweat.
Eleven thousand years—a span so long—the transformation only brought about this current visage, a place with peace not found outside, and vitality unseen elsewhere.
"Perhaps it’s out of the ancestors’ yearning for peace, to prevent conflict from resurfacing; the behaviors of magical creatures were deliberately adjusted during their initial creation."
"The creatures you see now look similar to those outside at first glance, but beyond appearance, they are entirely different."
"They don’t fight each other, nor do they prey on one another."
"Even a wolf, which is the most vicious outside, only needs to drink water regularly to satisfy all survival necessities here, as long as magic essence in nature remains plentiful."
Aivy’s reminder made Reiger aware that on this vast land, nearly all animals were absorbing magic power from nature.
"I see." Reiger understood, mumbling, "Rather than surviving by drinking water, they sustain themselves through absorbing magic essence."
Just like the fairies in the Fairy Country of Britannia.
Fairies too don’t need food; as long as they retain self-awareness, they can survive indefinitely.
Species in the Hidden Land are similar, needing only to absorb nature’s magic essence to live, not needing to hunt for sustenance.
Just as Aivy described, they merely look akin to outside animals.
In essence, this represents an entirely different life form.
"How nice..."
Liz couldn’t help but show a look of yearning.
The little princess never was one for conflict; such a peaceful, serene world seems like a dream-like ideal land to her.
In contrast, Lilith showed disdain.
As a demon with a hunger for hearts, carnage is her nature, hell being her aspired realm.
This artificially created peace, in her eyes, is just human self-deception, more repulsive than anything else.
Yuloli’s eyes slightly showed emotion, named nostalgia...
Reiger, after appreciating for a while, ceased paying attention.
He wouldn’t assess how good this world truly is.
Because he was not completely objective.
He too enjoys excitement and adventure.
Though not as disdainful as Lilith towards the Hidden Land, naturally with his character, he wouldn’t yearn for or envy it.
Thus, Reiger shifted on topic.
"Since we’ve arrived at the Hidden Land, our next step should be heading to the temple, right?"
Reiger spoke towards Aivy and Leo.
The two exchanged glances and nodded heavily.
"Priests have long awaited the royal family’s return and are surely expecting his highness’ arrival, right?" Aivy respectfully and reverently addressed Liz, "Your Highness, please accompany us to the temple."
Beside her, Leo also glanced at Reiger expectantly.
How respected and beloved were the Reinnaier clan royals by those in the Hidden Land?
But their most revered and beloved royals now were willingly serving an unknown man as attendants, diligently and obediently, even following his lead; how could they endure this?
Especially seeing this man bringing their esteemed highness into his quarters every evening, with no other sounds heard throughout the night... this was driving Leo to madness.
At such times, silence was perhaps the most terrifying, wasn’t it?
Not to mention Leo; even Aivy was nearly breaking down.
They couldn’t believably fathom what their highness did nightly in that room with him...
Unfortunately, they had no way of interfering.
Finally, with arrival at the Hidden Land, their territory, both Aivy and Leo naturally hoped to return promptly to the temple.
Doubtlessly, with powerful priests involved, even this man whose exact true capabilities remain unknown would be unable to entirely disregard them, right?
Through the temple’s might and priests’ prowess, many methods might resolve that irksome attendant contract.
"Then let’s go."
Reiger didn’t perceive Aivy and Leo’s intentions, and even if he did, he’d brush it off humorously.
Thus, Reiger nodded, exchanged a gaze with Liz, and after obtaining her tacit approval, spoke to Aivy and Leo.
"How do we proceed?"
Upon hearing, the pair simultaneously pointed in one direction.
"That way."
"The temple lies at the core area of this land."
As hosts, Aivy and Leo immediately recognized their location.
Thus, under their guidance, the group swiftly headed towards the Hidden Land’s central region...
