Chapter 1827 - 1827: If Only We Had Known Then What We Know Now
Chapter 1827 - 1827: If Only We Had Known Then What We Know Now
Over by the waste treatment plant, Tiger Master's henchmen and those from the Street Racing Gang were all crouching on the ground with their heads in their hands. This prompted Hu Xiong and the others to stand up, stepping forward to protect Ye Qing. The three children watched in stunned silence, having never seen a helicopter before, and clearly feeling a sense of fear towards the giant machine hovering in the air. However, seeing the Street Racing Gang that bullied them regularly now obediently crouching down, their hearts swelled with excitement.
Yet, looking at the dying stray dog and the three puppies already burned to death, the children were filled with sorrow. This stray dog had grown up with them, becoming like family to them. Now with its life hanging in the balance, they felt their hearts were torn with grief.
Ye Qing currently had no means to treat the stray dog. All he could do was hold the dog in his arms, praying it could hang on for a while longer. The flower petals from the Devouring Demon Flower he carried had been swallowed in his use of the Buddha's Relic's power. Left without medicine to treat injuries, he could only wait until they returned to Shenchuan City to give the dog the Devouring Demon Flower. But would the flower be effective for the dog?
The helicopter continued circling in mid-air, with the heavy machine gun persistently trained on Tiger Master's henchmen and the Street Racing Gang below, serving as a deterrent. The space near the waste treatment plant was cramped, cluttered with industrial debris preventing the helicopter from landing, forcing it to maintain a patrolling stance in the air.
This helicopter was summoned by Zhao Chengshuang contacting his father to dispatch from the military district. Fortunately, it arrived just in time, otherwise, Ye Qing might have been in peril tonight. The helicopter came directly from the military district, fast enough to outpace Li Lianshan's men.
Time slipped by steadily, and after waiting for about ten minutes, the roar of motorcycles was heard again at the entrance. This time, several cars sped into view.
Ye Qing looked up to see if they were Li Lianshan's men arriving. All he wanted now was for Li Lianshan's people to hurry over, and help get these children and the stray dog to the hospital — nothing else mattered.
However, the men in these cars were not Li Lianshan's, but Tiger Master's family. Hu sent a message saying Tiger Master was shot dead here, and the family couldn't wait, immediately gathering a crew to come over. These men were bold enough, knowing the opponent had guns, yet bringing their own guns.
The leader was Tiger Master's Second Brother. Upon arriving, he jumped out of the car, drew his gun from his waist, and shouted, "Where's my brother? ******, who killed my brother? Come out if you have the guts!"
Before he could reach the scene, gunfire erupted from above, and the heavy machine gun bullets pierced several holes in him, killing him instantly.
Seeing this unfold, Second Brother's men looked up in shock, finally noticing the heavy machine gun on the helicopter. Though startled, among them were some hardened criminals with many lives taken in their history. Seeing the heavy machine gun, they audaciously fired back at the helicopter!
Firing at a military helicopter is tantamount to declaring war on soldiers, and the result is predictable. The folks on the aircraft had been watching them, aware these men were armed, allowing them to shoot to kill by protocol. Especially now as they dared to shoot at the helicopter, the people aboard had no hesitation, they unleashed a barrage from the heavy machine gun, killing those who fired instantly, as clean and swift as could be!
The heavy machine gun held terrifying power; once hit, one was undoubtedly mutilated. Getting shot almost certainly spelled permanent disability even if life was spared.
Seeing their peers shot down, the remaining men quickly lost their nerve, throwing their guns away and kneeling in surrender. It was obvious; using handguns against a helicopter was suicidal!
"Everyone, drop and crouch!" commanded the cold voice from the helicopter, and the men below did as told immediately, cradling their heads as they crouched.
Yet, one man stood defiantly without a weapon, staring angrily at the helicopter, barking, "Who the hell are you? Shooting recklessly here and killing people, is there no law left?"
"Crouch down, this is the second warning!" the helicopter crew responded harshly, ignoring his queries.
This man was Tiger Brother's cousin, a core family member. Seeing two of his cousins slaughtered, his rage was uncontrollable. Yet, confronted with the heavy machine gun targeting him, he ultimately yielded.
"Hmph, I won't let this go!" He gritted his teeth, "Our Zhou Family is not easily bullied, we will settle this account!"
"Really?" Hu Xiong beside Ye Qing suddenly laughed mockingly, "I doubt you'll get that chance!"
The man retorted arrogantly, "Just wait and see. Did you find out about our Zhou Family's reputation before coming here?"
Hu Xiong laughed, "I don't need to know your **** Zhou Family. Turn around and you'll see for yourself."
"See what?" The man asked skeptically and turned to look casually. The look on his face froze instantly.
Standing near the entrance, outside connected to the main road, he could clearly see the situation on the road from here.
The area around the waste treatment plant was typically deserted, especially at night when no one would venture here. Besides the foul odors, it was exceptionally remote, leaving the surrounding roads devoid of vehicles.
But now, the road was packed densely with vehicles, stretching in a line—behind each vehicle stood people, forming a monumental assembly. The sight was overwhelming, limitless at a glance. The man had no clue how many vehicles there were, but there must be hundreds, with such a grand presence.
The vehicles formed a neat line. There were several people outside each vehicle—the sheer number of people was unimaginable.
The man felt his eyes weren't enough, rubbing them furiously, suspecting he was hallucinating. But reopening his eyes, the number of vehicles remained unchanged—none missing. And those standing by the cars were approaching the waste treatment plant, running over indeed.
There were thousands, charging collectively—it was reminiscent of the thundering cavalry charge in ancient battles!
Faced with the swarm rushing towards himself, the man's first impulse was to turn and flee. It was only natural, anyone seeing such a crowd charging would be frightened away.
Yet, these individuals ignored him, barreling directly towards the nearby shack. The leader dashed in, promptly scanning all directions before resting his gaze on Ye Qing.
"Ye Zi!" He shouted, sprinting frantically and embracing Ye Qing, visibly elated.
The man was stunned; seeing a helicopter hadn't terrified him, believing the family's influence could resolve this. But witnessing thousands of people had him truly shaken. Massing so many people reflected staggering power, and dealing with their family was merely effortless!
Not only the man was astounded, Tiger Master's henchmen and Street Racing Gang, including Sulon and the others, were nearly driven mad. Especially among the gang, several including Sulon, seeing the crowd's reaction to Ye Qing, realized the disaster they've brought upon themselves.
Recalling Ye Qing's previous words to Sulon, stating a single call could grant him two million, once mocked as bragging. Now it seemed true—someone who could mobilize thousands on his behalf, offering two million at will was trivial!
Sulon regretted deeply; had he followed Ye Qing's advice, made the call instead of bullying them, not only would he gain two million, but have a favor owed by Ye Qing. That would significantly boost his standing. But now, for momentary satisfaction, he chose to bully, resulting in enmity—now their henchmen arrived, and whether Sulon survived was uncertain.
"Who...who are you all?" The man stuttered.
Hearing this, Li Lianshan's followers erupted. One angrily kicked the man down, cursing, "******, not knowing Li Lianshan, were you **** raised?"
"Li... Li Lianshan!?" The man's eyes bulged, staring incredulously at the person holding Ye Qing. He could never have imagined this individual is the renowned Li Lianshan from Shenchuan City!
He had heard Li Lianshan's name—a Local Thug evolving into Shenchuan City's underground leader was an idol for many there. Though their Zhou Family ruled local counties, they knew in front of Li Lianshan, they were mere specks. Meeting Li once was near impossible for them.
Yet, unexpectedly, they saw Li Lianshan now. If only seen under better circumstances, Zhou Family would want to cry, genuinely cry.
If only they had known, they wouldn't have acted as they did.
