Chapter 20 I thought you had forgotten about me
Chapter 20 I thought you had forgotten about me
Jiang Youzhen didn't care what others thought. He took the script and casually found a coffee shop to sit down. He needed to put in his full concentration for the upcoming filming. If he made even the slightest mistake, there would be countless news reports mocking him and Jiang Jingshu.
He knew that fame brings trouble, and more importantly, he was also considered to have connections.
Upon closer examination, this is indeed a point that will be criticized.
What frustrated him even more was that he had started his career in Hollywood, and now that he was back in China, it felt like returning to a completely unfamiliar world.
I feel uncomfortable all over.
Just as he was engrossed in reading the script, a shadow suddenly fell over the corner of his eye, and then he heard a familiar voice trying to strike up a conversation.
"Hello, I see you're carrying a script. Are you an actor from which agency?"
...here we go again.
Kang Woo-jin put down the script, looked up at the other person, and shook his head with a smile. "Sorry, I have no intention of signing with an agency. It's not convenient."
The man wasn't annoyed; he just smiled sheepishly and stepped back, then took out his business card and went on to chat with other people.
Perhaps it was because of the presence of talent scouts, but the coffee shop was no longer as quiet as before. Kang Woo-jin ordered two more boxes of cookies and juice, intending to bring them to Kang Jung-seo for afternoon tea.
The coffee shop was only about a hundred meters away from the MBC TV station. Kang Woo-jin could see a lot of people outside the TV station from afar, holding various posters and banners. Almost all of them were girls, and he guessed that they were fans of some idol group.
"Oh...that person."
Bypassing the crowd, Jiang Youzhen showed his temporary pass to the security guard, and as soon as he entered, he saw a familiar figure not far away.
That tiny person who forgot about themselves!
Meeting the girl he had been longing for at the TV station brought Jiang Youzhen a pleasant surprise, but soon, a sense of resentment crept into his heart.
Does that little one really remember himself?
...
Forget it, even if he went over to chat her up, he wanted to find out the truth. If she really didn't want to communicate with him, then he'd just give up.
Jiang Youzhen waited a while until the girl's companion left before he went over and saw her still fair and pretty face. He smiled and greeted her.
"We meet again, but Taeyeon, don't you really recognize me?"
The sudden sound startled the other person, who trembled. Kim Tae-yeon turned around in surprise and froze when she saw the face she remembered.
It's definitely Anders. I haven't seen him for a few years, and he looks even better now.
"Anders, is it really you?"
A subconscious gasp brought a smile to Jiang Youzhen's face, his heart filled with the girl's tenderness. He smiled and leaned closer. "It's good that you remember me. Last time at the market, I thought you had forgotten me."
Just then, Kim Tae-yeon suddenly saw some staff members passing by. She snapped out of her daze, took two steps back, lowered her head, and politely greeted the staff members.
Then, somewhat awkwardly, she tugged at Jiang Youzhen's clothes, pulling him to a quiet spot before explaining, "I didn't realize it was you at all yesterday; I only remembered after we left the market. But when did you return to the country?"
All she remembered was that Jiang Youzhen suddenly approached her, and if he hadn't looked like a bad guy, she would have yelled "pervert!" Only after she left did she suddenly remember those familiar eyes.
She tried to go in again to look, but she couldn't find him anymore. On her way back, she kept wondering if Jiang Youzhen had forgotten about her.
Now that she's come to her senses, she looks up at Kang Woo-jin's face. The Korean she just heard wasn't very fluent, and his face was clearly of mixed race. His deep eyes captivated her.
She never expected to run into him again today.
Seeing that the girl seemed to be lost in thought, Kang Woo-jin stopped teasing her and stood there quietly, letting her look at him. After a while, he saw Kim Tae-yeon react.
He then picked up the pastries and coffee in his hand and said with a smile, "I apologize. I was rude last time. I should have called you back immediately. I don't know if you still like fruit flavors. There are some fruit-flavored cookies inside."
Kim Tae-yeon subconsciously took the bag, then thought of a question and asked curiously, "But Anders, weren't you always in New York? It's been so many years. I heard from my brother that you became an actor. How come you're at MBC?"
"I'm not an actor; I'm here today for an audition."
"what?"
"Audition? Do you still need to audition?"
Besides, it's a shame that someone with that face isn't an idol; why would they become an actress?
She didn't say the second half of her sentence. She looked at the snacks and coffee she was carrying and gave a gentle smile.
"I just got back a couple of days ago. A producer in New York is pressuring me to write a sequel to the movie, but I'm busy with school, so I had to come back to China to take a break."
Little did I expect that upon returning home, I would be drafted by my own mother.
Kang Woo-jin shrugged and chuckled, "Well, I ran into you at the market the day I got back. But when did you come to Seoul? I'm so sorry about yesterday. By the way, how are your nose and forehead? Do they still hurt today?"
"I passed SM Entertainment's youth audition last year and am now one of their trainees. My forehead doesn't hurt anymore; I stopped paying attention to it a long time ago. And thinking about it now, I guess I was just walking too fast and didn't notice someone standing outside the door."
Hearing what she said, Jiang Youzhen was subconsciously stunned.
SM? Why did she go to that company?
Jiang Youzhen glanced at the time and suggested going upstairs to the lounge. He noticed a staff member carrying a cardboard box passing by and instinctively reached out to pull the girl to his side.
Holding onto his clothes, he didn't dare to touch the girl's hand rashly, for fear of being mistaken for a "pervert" again.
"Trainees? Does that mean they're going to debut? If it's SM Entertainment, hmm... is it the agency that's called Shinhwa? I remember we saw their performance at the amusement park last time."
myth?
To be honest, Kim Tae-yeon also remembers the memories of that day at the amusement park; she was very happy at the time.
But now, upon hearing the group's name, she was somewhat surprised. She glanced around and deliberately lowered her voice to remind them, "Anders, Shinhwa terminated their contract with our company two years ago."
"Terminated the contract? Oh, sorry, I was abroad before and didn't know about this." Jiang Youzhen grinned awkwardly. He couldn't help but mutter to himself, "Why do these people terminate their contracts so easily? The entertainment industry isn't that easy to navigate."
"Speaking of which, I see you quite enjoy watching their performances."
"That was before. Now I just respect my seniors." Kim Tae-yeon subconsciously tilted her head. She lowered her voice, and of course, she wanted to keep quiet when mentioning a senior who had already terminated their contract with the company.
"By the way, what brings you to the TV station? Do you have a performance?" Kang Woo-jin asked again.
"No, actually, a senior colleague from the company is preparing for his debut and happened to have a pre-debut performance at MBC today, so my friend and I came to support him."
As Kim Tae-yeon explained, she noticed her friend had appeared and quickly said, "Sorry, Anders, I need to meet up with my friend. I have to go now, goodbye."
