Chapter 102 Investment Support
Chapter 102 Investment Support
One week after the engagement was officially dissolved
Lin Chuyue sat in her office leather chair, her gaze fixed on the folder on her desk. The cover clearly displayed the words "Statement of Annulment of the Gu-Lin Engagement." This was a public announcement jointly drafted and released by her and Gu Yanchuan, its wording appropriate, avoiding any potentially controversial content. However, she knew that the annulment of the engagement was merely the end of one phase of her relationship with Gu Yanchuan, and that a greater challenge was just beginning.
Just as she was lost in thought, there was a knock at the door, and her assistant, Xiao Zhang, poked his head in: "President Lin, President Li is here."
Lin Chuyue was taken aback, then looked up and said, "Let him in."
A few seconds later, Li Zhanchuan pushed open the door and entered. He was wearing a well-tailored suit, and his expression was as cold as ever, but his gaze softened slightly when he saw Lin Chuyue.
"President Li, what brings you here today?" Lin Chuyue asked with a hint of teasing, trying to ease the tension in the air.
Li Zhanchuan sat down opposite her, holding a document in his hand: "Now that the engagement issue has been resolved, shouldn't we talk about the cooperation plan between the Lin family and the Li family?"
"Why are you in such a hurry?" Lin Chuyue raised an eyebrow, her tone relaxed, but she knew very well that Li Zhanchuan's arrival was no accident.
Li Zhanchuan smiled slightly and pushed the document in front of her: "Since your time is so valuable, I won't waste any more words. This is the cooperation proposal put forward by the Li family. You can take a look first, and we can discuss the specific details later."
Lin Chuyue opened the document and found that the contents were more detailed than she had expected. The cooperation not only included financial support, but also covered multiple aspects such as technology and resource sharing, making it a rare opportunity for the Lin Group.
"Such a large-scale cooperation, what's the price?" Lin Chuyue looked up at Li Zhanchuan, her tone cautious.
"The price?" Li Zhanchuan repeated in a low voice, a hint of amusement flashing in his eyes. "This is considered support for an old friend. What do you think the price will be?"
Lin Chuyue couldn't help but smile: "President Li, isn't your 'support' a bit too generous?"
“Lin Chuyue,” Li Zhanchuan looked directly at her, his tone low but serious, “I believe in your abilities, and I believe the Lin family can rise again. This cooperation is the best choice for both you and the Lin family.”
Lin Chuyue was slightly taken aback. She sensed the sincerity in Li Zhanchuan's words, but this sincerity stirred up a complex emotion in her heart.
"I will seriously consider it." She closed the file, giving an ambiguous answer.
Li Zhanchuan nodded: "Okay, I'll wait for your reply. However," he paused, his gaze becoming slightly profound, "some things don't need to be considered for too long. If you miss them, you may never have them again."
Lin Chuyue was taken aback, seemingly understanding the hidden meaning in his words, but she did not respond.
On the other side, the Gu Group
Luo Yurou was busy at her internship at the Gu Group, with mountains of documents piled up in her hands, but there was no sign of fatigue on her face. As the daughter of a friend of the Gu family, she had not received any special arrangements to join the Gu Group, but had joined as an ordinary employee.
"Ms. Luo, this document needs your signature." My colleague, Xiao Lin, handed me a document, her tone polite and respectful.
"Okay, I'll take care of it right away." Luo Yurou took the document and smiled sweetly.
Not far away, Gu Yanchuan walked out of his office and happened to see this scene. His gaze lingered on Luo Yurou for a moment before he looked away, his expression unchanged.
"Mr. Gu." Luo Yurou noticed his gaze and quickly stood up, her tone tinged with nervousness.
Gu Yanchuan nodded, his tone calm: "Are you adjusting well to the work?"
"Yes, I'm adapting well. Thank you for your concern, Mr. Gu." Luo Yurou lowered her head and smiled slightly, but a hint of shyness flashed in her eyes.
Gu Yanchuan looked at her and suddenly remembered what his mother had mentioned a few days ago: "Yu Rou is doing well at the company, you should pay more attention to her."
He didn't say much, only calmly stating, "You can come to me directly if you have any problems."
"Okay, thank you, Mr. Gu." Luo Yurou's face flushed slightly as she responded softly.
At night in Lin Chuyue's apartment
Lin Chuyue sat by the window, flipping through the cooperation proposal brought by Li Zhanchuan. But the words Li Zhanchuan had said earlier that day kept replaying in her mind—"If you miss it, you might never have another chance."
She put down the documents and sighed. She could feel Li Zhanchuan's concern for her, but it was precisely because of this concern that she needed to remain rational and not let herself be swayed by her emotions.
Just then, her phone rang, and the name that appeared on the screen made her pause slightly—Li Zhanchuan.
She hesitated for a moment before answering the phone: "Mr. Li, what's the matter so late?"
"Still looking at cooperation proposals?" Li Zhanchuan's deep voice came from the other end of the phone, carrying a hint of barely perceptible concern.
"Hmm," Lin Chuyue replied, "The details are very clear, but I still need time to consider it."
“It’s okay, I’ll wait for your reply.” Li Zhanchuan paused, then said, “Lin Chuyue, sometimes you don’t need to think too much. You can trust me.”
Lin Chuyue was silent for a moment, then said softly, "Thank you, Li Zhanchuan."
After hanging up the phone, Lin Chuyue leaned back in her chair, her gaze gradually becoming distant.
