Chapter 2: A Temporary Worker Arrives at JYP
Chapter 2: A Temporary Worker Arrives at JYP
Even after Xie Mingmu joined D-Company, his identity remained hidden.
Being a paparazzi is like being an undercover agent, except you're an undercover agent from the Triads who infiltrate the police force. After all, what paparazzi do isn't honorable, and they use every means possible.
JYP is actually working on a big project, something like filming a variety show for Twice. Apparently, the pace is fast, the workload is heavy, and there's a shortage of manpower, especially in photography.
To save costs, the entertainment company on the peninsula tries to be as frugal as possible, only hiring professionals when there are events, and these are temporary or even completely outsourced to external teams.
This is the opportunity Kim So-hee was referring to: to have Xie Mingmu infiltrate the group and find a chance to secretly take juicy photos about Bae Suzy. Dispatch also instructed him that it would be great if he could also take photos of Twice's scandals.
Fortunately, Xie Mingmu didn't have to handle this personally. Dispatch, which had a lot of information about celebrity scandals, made a deal with JYP to help Xie Mingmu get a job in JYP's photography department as a temporary photographer.
Five days later, Xie Mingmu looked at the JYP Entertainment sign and suddenly wanted to say something: "Sorry! I'm a gangster!"
Xie Mingmu never expected things to develop in this direction.
He time-traveled. He was just having hot pot, watching a movie, and remarked, "Uncle Wei isn't as handsome as me, and his eyesight is just average." Then he opened his eyes and found himself a baby. And so it has been ever since.
With a forced smile, Xie Mingmu rejoined JYP Entertainment. Under the guidance of his team leader, he learned about the company's structure and then began to be assigned tasks.
Xie Mingmu secretly bribed some people to get paid to work, and he was also successfully assigned to be a photographer at Twice.
Filming their group variety show requires a lot of manpower. There are nine people in the team, so there are many camera positions. That's why JYP needs to recruit some temporary photographers.
As one of the three major entertainment companies in the Korean Peninsula, JYP Entertainment usually employs a group of photographers to meet daily shooting needs, but when it comes to large-scale projects, they will lack manpower.
After understanding the mission, the guide led Xie Mingmu and the other new photographers on a tour of the company premises. As photographers, they naturally wanted to capture the scenes in a more aesthetically pleasing way to find inspiration and see where they could create good interactions with the team members.
"This is our practice room. Don't go near these areas normally. Only during filming or in case of an emergency."
The guide explained to the temporary workers, then, fearing they might misunderstand, added, "They'll be sweating a lot during practice, so unauthorized personnel shouldn't get close to avoid misunderstandings and disrupting their concentration."
At the same time, Xie Mingmu vaguely heard sounds coming from the practice, and it seemed to be something like this.
"Sorry, I didn't answer the phone just now."
"I'm shopping with a friend right now; it wouldn't be appropriate to meet up with them."
"I'll contact you shortly. Don't worry, I'll be calling you soon~~"
Lost in thought, the guide, having completed his task, led the group to a conference room.
Finally, Xie Mingmu was assigned the job of assistant cameraman. This position was perfect for Xie Mingmu because it was relatively free and he had a lot of free time, which he could use to find juicy gossip about Bae Soo-ji.
However, Xie Mingmu, who was usually not nervous, became nervous at this moment. He was about to meet all the members of TWICE, and he still didn't know how to face that person.
This is also why Xie Mingmu wanted to become a paparazzi:
First of all, he doesn't want to be an idol or actor or anything like that. He doesn't like to be in the public eye, and he usually wears a mask when he goes out to reduce the attention he receives.
Secondly, if you were to work as JYP's legal counsel, the chances of actually having contact with her would be virtually zero.
So he chose to become a paparazzi for the largest entertainment company on the peninsula, a job that at least gave him a better chance of seeing her. He could also learn about her recent activities through his colleagues, and if he discovered she was dating again, Xie Mingmu would be able to move on completely.
I just want to see her again, in real life, not in a virtual world.
Xie Mingmu really disliked this feeling, inexplicably thinking of her, feeling anxious and insecure: "Baby, our relationship feels like a rollercoaster."
However, in order to keep his job, Xie Mingmu has temporarily focused his attention on revealing shocking information about Bae Suzy.
After being trained by Kim So-hee, Xie Mingmu learned that while most young idols would meet secretly in the practice room, established idols like Bae Suzy would go to upscale restaurants or their own homes.
Both of these places represent high cost, which means that the cost of taking private photos will be very high. This is a barrier, a barrier that prevents paparazzi from leaking information.
Park Jihyo wiped her sweat: "Okay, let's stop here for now and take a break."
"Why hasn't anyone come to fix the air conditioner yet? I have to take a shower later." Lim Nayeon kept shaking her clothes, sweat soaking her white short-sleeved shirt, and a beautiful view could be vaguely seen, well, it was purple.
Mina glanced at the scenery with a keen sense of surreptitiousness. Mina looked at Mina as if she had a spider's sense of touch, and Mina immediately turned her gaze away. Taking advantage of Mina's shift in gaze, Mina glanced at Mina again.
"It's so hot! I'm going to faint." When no one responded to her, Lim Nayeon immediately made a funny face, pretending to collapse.
Lim Nayeon found a good spot and fell right into Yoo Jeongyeon's arms.
"Ugh!" Yoo Jeong-yeon said with a look of disgust. "You're covered in sweat and you stink."
"My sweat smells good! You're lying!"
The three members of the catering team were exhausted, so they sat down on the ground and started discussing what to have for lunch.
"I'm afraid there might be ribs~" Momo said blankly, her gaze lost in a void.
"Me too~~" Sana Minatozaki also joined the ranks of those who were hungry.
Mina drank her water and watched their playful antics with a smile. Then, the group of people all turned their attention to the team.
"Alright, that's about enough practice for today. We can rest now. Let's take a break and then head back to the dorm." The team member glanced at his phone again. "After we finish eating, we'll go back to the dorm to rest. We have some gigs to do this afternoon."
"Okay, Dingding, you have to wait for me this time. Last time we went out to eat, you actually got into the van by yourself first!" Lim Nayeon complained to Yoo Jeongyeon.
"That time it was because my stomach hurt!" Yoo Jeongyeon's face darkened, ignoring Lim Nayeon's coquettishness; she was already immune to it.
Although Lim Nayeon is the oldest member of Twice, she is very childish, which is inversely proportional to her age, making her the true youngest member of the group.
A young black woman expressed some displeasure.
The nine people went from being strangers at the beginning to having a very strong friendship now.
