Chapter 19 "Spring Breeze Flows Several Times"
Chapter 19 "Spring Breeze Flows Several Times"
When Evan came out of his house again, the sun had completely set, the sky was black with twinkling stars, and the streetlights on the roads in the Golden Phoenix District were already on.
Dressed in a formal suit, accompanied by a male servant, Evan rode in his own carriage toward Baron Hoy's mansion on Olsner Street in the eastern part of Tingen.
Mrs. Sharon is the most famous widow in Tingen, the widow of old Baron Hoy, the stepmother of the current Baron, and also Tingen's most famous socialite, one of the few people in Tingen who can speak with both the old and new parties at the same time.
This charity auction is actually an annual event in the Tingen municipal government. However, due to the approaching local elections and the close race between the two sides, the parties have been making some big moves, which has led to a recent strain in relations between them.
Therefore, this year's charity auction was organized by the well-known nonpartisan, Mrs. Sharon, representing Baron Hoy's House. This was a mutually agreed upon choice, and both sides also hoped to take this opportunity to see if they could ease tensions and de-escalate the situation.
However, Evan was not optimistic that this charity auction gala would actually improve the relationship between the two parties, because, as far as Evan knew, Mrs. Sharon had played a significant role in their discord.
The reason why Mrs. Sharon did this is easy to understand.
Chaos and strife, which bring disaster to people, are often welcomed by those with extraordinary witch paths.
"The common thread between the Hunter Path and the Witch Path is their desire for chaos!"
When Evan arrived at Baron Hoy's mansion, a large crowd had already gathered, and the entire street was packed with carriages of all kinds.
However, when Evan's carriage arrived, all the other carriages gave way upon seeing the noble insignia on it. After all, the Horn family held a special position in Ahova County, and the fierce competition for mayor of Tingen was not unrelated to Evan's brother.
Arhovashire has long been a stronghold of the Conservative Party, but Robert Horn, the heir to the Horn family, Arhovashire's representative family, now leans towards New Party policies.
Since Robert Horn, a Conservative Party member, betrayed Conservative policies and repealed the Grain Act in Parliament last year, the political climate in Tingen has changed.
Many people were undecided about which candidate to support because of this incident, but Robert Horn never endorsed any candidate, including incumbent mayor Dennis, a conservative member, and New Party rising star Councillor Menerson.
Everyone is now speculating about Robert Horn's stance, and even the political scene in Backlund is paying close attention to the election in Tingen.
They all viewed the outcome of this election as a bellwether for whether Robert Horn would remain in the Conservative Party or join a new party.
Both candidates naturally wanted Robert Horn's endorsement, or even the Horn family's endorsement. Robert Horn was hard to fool, but his brother was easy to deal with.
When Evan's carriage arrived at the gates of Baron Hoy's mansion, Baron Hoy, having received the news, hurriedly went to greet him.
Looking at Baron Hoy, who was so hospitable to him, Evan always felt a little strange, because the two of them were actually kindred spirits, or rather, many of the men present were kindred spirits.
Given Evan's values, he would find it hard to accept such a thing, but for the sake of the witch's potion, he could only pretend to be nonchalant for now, though he was already determined to kill Mrs. Sharon.
Because of the large number of guests, the entire auction was held outdoors. In addition to the auction stage, there were various tables and barbecue grills all around. People came and went, men and women socialized, and bursts of laughter could be heard from the crowd from time to time.
As soon as Evan entered, he attracted a lot of attention. Whether it was politicians with ulterior motives or beautiful young girls, they all noticed Evan.
Mayor Daniel and Councilor Menason also came over one after the other, asking Evan to greet his brother and subtly inquire about his brother's views on the Tingen election, but Evan brushed them off with a laugh.
Soon, Mrs. Sharon emerged from the house in her finest attire to preside over the charity auction, while Evan brought a bottle of the Earl's House's century-old Tear of the Moon as an item for the auction.
Although the venue was Baron Hoy's residence, and the event was held in the name of Mrs. Sharon to bring together members of both parties, the main focus was on the two candidates who were running in the election this year. Therefore, they would both take the stage to give speeches, expound their political ideas, and strive for more campaign funds.
So after Mrs. Sharon finished her opening remarks, the two candidates took the stage to explain their emphasis on 'charity,' their support for charitable causes, and then outlined the policies they might implement if elected.
This made Ivan, who was in the audience, feel that his view was correct: this charity auction would not bridge the differences between the two parties at all; on the contrary, it would make the conflict public and amplify it.
Just as Evan was feeling bored, he suddenly felt a gaze fall on his face.
Evan followed his senses and looked over, only to find Mrs. Sharon looking at him. When she saw him looking at her, she gave him an alluring smile, then said something to the person next to her before quietly leaving.
Seeing this, Evan knew he had to follow them. So he told the male servant who had come with him, and while everyone's attention was on the stage, he left the crowd and entered the house.
As soon as he entered the house, Evan found Mrs. Sharon's personal maid waiting for him. Upon seeing him, she led him to Mrs. Sharon's bedroom on the second floor.
Upon entering the bedroom, Evan was embraced by a fair-skinned, plump, and soft body around the neck, and at the same time, Evan used his hands to lift Mrs. Sharon up.
Mrs. Sharon looked at Evan with her innocent, doe-like eyes and said:
"Those two people will give speeches for at least an hour, so we still have plenty of time."
As she spoke, she wrapped her long, beautiful legs around Evan's waist and even rubbed against him a couple of times, which aroused Evan's burning desire.
Smelling the aphrodisiac-like fragrance in Mrs. Sharon's bedroom, coupled with the side effects of the Golden Gaze, Evan, panting heavily, couldn't wait to grab Mrs. Sharon and throw her onto the bed, roughly tearing off her clothes while also taking off his own.
Faced with Evan's rough treatment, Mrs. Sharon not only did not resist, but instead indulged in it, twisting her body to cooperate.
Soon, seductive moans filled the entire bedroom; the bed, the sofa, and even the balcony window were all filled with Evan's struggling figure, while the lecture downstairs continued.
After a long while, Evan, completely naked, sat on the bed, kneading Mrs. Sharon's beautifully curved thighs. Mrs. Sharon, no longer with the delicate demeanor of a young girl, propped her head up with her hand, also naked, her face flushed and alluring, looking at Evan with a charming and mature woman's allure, occasionally teasing various parts of Evan's body with her feet.
"Have you found out what I asked you to inquire about a few days ago? What is your brother's attitude towards the election in Tingen?"
Evan was aroused by Mrs. Sharon's teasing and became aroused again, but that did not stop him from answering Mrs. Sharon's questions.
"My brother has no plans to leave the Conservative Party now. Although he supports the policies of the New Party, the Conservative Party is the traditional stronghold of the Horn family. It is a valuable political asset that should not be given up easily."
But my brother doesn't want to support the current mayor, Mr. Daniel. In his words, "Mayor Daniel's achievements over the past eight years are probably less than what that curly-haired baboon could accomplish in eight years!" So he doesn't want to support anyone and told me not to express my opinion rashly.
Mrs. Sharon laughed heartily upon hearing Robert Horn's assessment of Mayor Daniel, and at the same time praised Evan's ability to gather information, preparing to reward him again.
But Evan's next words made her frown.
"Mr. Buck, the butler who has taken care of me since I was a child, wrote a letter to my brother, telling him about the changes in me recently, including my closeness with you. Given my brother's personality, he might be unhappy, so he might send me to work in Backlund, which could force us to separate."
Mrs. Sharon's mood instantly plummeted. Evan was the most valuable peripheral member she had developed over the years. Her mother demanded that she hand over the right to use Evan. She was reluctant to do so at first, but now it seemed that she had no choice but to, because it had really attracted Robert Horn's attention, and she was now in danger of losing her current status. She was well aware of this.
However, this did not prevent her from increasing her influence on Evan. So she looked at Evan's face with a dazed and painful gaze, and tears welled up in her deep brown eyes, which made Evan feel even more heartbroken and comfort her repeatedly.
Gradually, they became entangled in bed again, indulging in their desires until they finally stopped.
Hearing that the speech downstairs was about to end, Evan and Mrs. Sharon got dressed again with the help of their maids.
During this time, Evan made a request to obtain the Assassin's Path Sequence 8 "Instigator" potion recipe ahead of schedule, and Mrs. Sharon agreed without hesitation.
When Evan and Mrs. Sharon reappeared downstairs, the two politicians had finally finished their speeches.
However, it was clear that everyone disliked them using this occasion to promote their political views, so the applause was not enthusiastic.
Mrs. Sharon quickly went on stage to announce the start of the auction.
Many observant people saw Evan and Mrs. Sharon leave the venue earlier, but most of the men gave Evan ambiguous and teasing looks, while most of the women glared angrily at Mrs. Sharon on the stage, cursing each other with the most vicious words.
Strangely, they only felt that Mrs. Sharon had seduced the eligible bachelor, Evan Horn, and cursed him, while showing inexplicable tolerance towards Evan, as if as long as Evan opened his arms to them, what had just happened was nothing.
Evan simply ignored the various gazes that kept drifting towards him.
After bidding £500 for the antique pocket watch that Mrs. Sharon had contributed to the auction, Evan left Baron Hoy's mansion immediately.
This disappointed Mayor Daniel and Councilman Menerson, who had originally wanted to communicate with Irwin.
