Chapter 19 "Spring Breeze Flows Several Times"
When Evan came out of his house again, the sun had completely set, the sky was black with twinkling stars, and the streetlights on the roads in the Golden Phoenix District were already on.
Dressed in a formal suit, accompanied by a male servant, Evan rode in his own carriage toward Baron Hoy's mansion on Olsner Street in the eastern part of Tingen.
Mrs. Sharon is the most famous widow in Tingen, the widow of old Baron Hoy, the stepmother of the current Baron, and also Tingen's most famous socialite, one of the few people in Tingen who can speak with both the old and new parties at the same time.
This charity auction is actually an annual event in the Tingen municipal government. However, due to the approaching local elections and the close race between the two sides, the parties have been making some big moves, which has led to a recent strain in relations between them.
Therefore, this year's charity auction was organized by the well-known nonpartisan, Mrs. Sharon, representing Baron Hoy's House. This was a mutually agreed upon choice, and both sides also hoped to take this opportunity to see if they could ease tensions and de-escalate the situation.
However, Evan was not optimistic that this charity auction gala would actually improve the relationship between the two parties, because, as far as Evan knew, Mrs. Sharon had played a significant role in their discord.
The reason why Mrs. Sharon did this is easy to understand.

They all viewed the outcome of this election as a bellwether for whether Robert Horn would remain in the Conservative Party or join a new party.
Both candidates naturally wanted Robert Horn's endorsement, or even the Horn family's endorsement. Robert Horn was hard to fool, but his brother was easy to deal with.
When Evan's carriage arrived at the gates of Baron Hoy's mansion, Baron Hoy, having received the news, hurriedly went to greet him.
