Chapter 648 Will the price continue to drop?
As the days passed, on the third night, Li Xiangyang still did not budge.
Zhang Zhihua sat in the hotel's presidential suite, his face growing increasingly grim.
In his experience, factory owners in such dire straits would usually give in within two or three days at most. But this Li Xiangyang was surprisingly stubborn.
"Boss, how about we give you a little more?" Zhao Jianwei asked tentatively.
"Give more?" Zhang Zhihua sneered. "Do you think we're doing charity work?"
He stood up and paced around the room: "Since the soft approach isn't working, let's try the hard one. Contact our people in the area and create some trouble for this factory."
"What kind of trouble?"
“Production line malfunctions, raw material problems, worker unrest—you don’t know any of that, do you?” A glint of malice flashed in Zhang Zhihua’s eyes. “In short, let’s make things even worse for them.”
Zhao Jianwei nodded, picked up the phone, and began making contacts.
The next morning, a series of urgent alarms sounded in the factory.
Li Xiangyang and Wang Ergou rushed to the workshop upon hearing the noise, only to find that production line number one had stopped operating, and several workers were gathered around the equipment checking the situation.
"What happened?" Li Xiangyang asked.
Workshop foreman Zhang wiped the sweat from his brow: "Boss Li, I don't know what happened, the machine suddenly stopped. We checked it and found that several wires in the control system had been deliberately cut."
Li Xiangyang walked over to the equipment and carefully examined the cut wire. The cut was very clean, clearly indicating deliberate sabotage.
"Has anyone seen anyone suspicious?" Wang Ergou asked.
"No, everything was normal last night. The problem was discovered as soon as I turned it on this morning." Mr. Zhang shook his head.
Li Xiangyang sneered inwardly; these people had finally lost their patience. He feigned great anxiety: "Quickly contact a repairman and try to fix it today. Every day of production stoppage means a loss of tens of thousands of yuan!"
"Okay, I'll contact them right away." Mr. Zhang hurriedly ran to make the call.
Just then, warehouse manager Lao Ma rushed over: "Boss Li, something terrible has happened! There's a problem with our raw material warehouse!"
When the group arrived at the warehouse, they found the area where packaging materials were stored in a mess. Thousands of boxes had been maliciously damaged, and scraps of paper were scattered all over the floor.
"When did this happen?" Li Xiangyang asked.
"I don't know either. The door was fine when I locked it last night," Old Ma said, looking aggrieved. "This morning when I opened the door, it was like this."
Wang Ergou squatted down to examine the pieces of paper on the ground and found that many of them had been deliberately torn apart, rather than being damaged accidentally.
"Let's report it to the police," Li Xiangyang sighed. "This is clearly sabotage on purpose."
"Mr. Li, could it be..." Old Ma hesitated, then stopped himself from speaking.
"What is it? Just tell me."
"Could it be those people who want to buy our factory?" Old Ma whispered. "I've heard some unscrupulous businessmen will use any means necessary to drive down prices."
Li Xiangyang pretended to be very angry: "If that's really the case, then that's going too far!"
No sooner had he finished speaking than Old Wang, the gatekeeper, ran over again: "Boss Li, a group of people have come outside, saying they're from the labor inspection department, and they want to check our employment practices."
Li Xiangyang and Wang Ergou exchanged a glance; these people were really quick.
Upon arriving at the entrance, I saw five or six people in uniform standing there, led by a man in his forties who was waving a law enforcement badge.
"You must be the people in charge of this factory?" the man said arrogantly. "We received a report that your factory is engaging in illegal employment practices, and we're going in to inspect it."
Li Xiangyang examined their documents carefully and found that although they were similar in style, there were many flaws in the details.
"Which department are you from?" Li Xiangyang asked.
"From the county labor inspection team, is there a problem?" the man asked impatiently.
"No problem, I just want to verify it." Li Xiangyang took out his phone. "I'll call the county to confirm."
"What do you mean? Are you doubting our identities?" The man's expression changed.
"It's not a suspicion, just following the proper procedures," Li Xiangyang said as he dialed the number.
Seeing that Li Xiangyang was really going to make the call to verify, the fake law enforcement officers began to panic.
"Fine, since you're so uncooperative, we'll come back another day." The leader hurriedly put away his identification. "But I'm warning you, if there are any problems, the consequences will be severe!"
After saying that, the group left in a hurry.
Li Xiangyang watched their retreating figures, a cold smile playing on his lips.
In the evening, Li Xiangyang convened a meeting with several core employees.
"Everyone saw what happened today," Li Xiangyang said, looking around at the crowd. "Someone is trying to ruin our factory."
"Mr. Li, who do you think it could be?" Master Zhang asked.
"Who else could it be? Besides those who want to buy our factory at a low price, who else would do this?" Wang Ergou said indignantly.
“Ergou is right,” Li Xiangyang nodded. “Xiaowei, if anyone asks, just say that today’s events have terrified me, and I’m starting to consider lowering the price to sell.”
“Understood, Mr. Li,” Zhang Xiaowei nodded in response.
"Everyone else, increase vigilance starting today," Li Xiangyang said, looking at everyone. "Wang Ergou is in charge of arranging manpower for 24-hour patrols. All important equipment and warehouses must be guarded."
"What about the monitoring system?" Master Zhang asked.
“Increase the number of cameras, especially in blind spots,” Li Xiangyang drew a diagram on a piece of paper. “Also, we need to install several hidden cameras in places they don’t know about.”
Wang Ergou understood Li Xiangyang's meaning: "Are you trying to catch them in the act?"
“That’s right.” A cold glint flashed in Li Xiangyang’s eyes. “Since they like causing trouble, let them leave behind evidence. Then, let’s see who dares to be arrogant!”
That night, Zhang Xiaowei made the phone call to the mysterious person as planned.
"Something happened at the factory today. The production line was damaged, and the warehouse was smashed," Zhang Xiaowei said, deliberately lowering his voice. "Boss Li is terrified. He said if this continues, the factory will really go bankrupt."
"Oh? What's his attitude now?" The voice on the other end of the phone was clearly excited.
"He started to soften his stance, saying he could consider lowering the price. However, he still felt that 1.5 million was too little and wanted to negotiate down to 2 million."
"Two million? You're dreaming!" the other party sneered. "Tell him that under the current circumstances, one million two hundred thousand is the absolute maximum. If he still doesn't agree, the price will continue to drop."
“I understand, I will pass it on,” Zhang Xiaowei said.
"By the way, has your factory increased security recently?"
"No, it's the same as always. Boss Li is too busy taking care of himself to deal with these things," Zhang Xiaowei replied, following Li Xiangyang's instructions.
