Chapter 536 Hong Kong Businessmen
Chapter 536 Hong Kong Businessmen
After seeing Dr. Qian off, Chu Qingxuan, the old Party Secretary's granddaughter, walked towards the courtyard with a smile.
"Why is Qingxuan here? It's so cold."
Upon seeing the visitor, Wang Ergou asked with a smile,
"Come inside and we'll talk." Li Xiangyang opened the courtyard gate. "Qingxuan, come inside and warm up."
Chu Qingxuan's cheeks were flushed red from the cold wind. She rubbed her hands together incessantly after entering the house, saying, "Brother Xiangyang, sister-in-law."
"Sit down and warm up. I'll pour you a cup of hot water," Li Xiaoyun said warmly.
"Thank you, sister-in-law." After sitting down, Chu Qingxuan's gaze fell on Xiaobai. "Is this the little wolf? It looks so cute."
"Yes, it's been half a month since I took it in, and it's been very obedient." Li Xiangyang sat down opposite him. "You've come all this way, is there something you need?"
Chu Qingxuan took the hot water Li Xiaoyun handed her, took a sip, and then spoke: "It's like this, my grandfather asked me to ask you how much of the mountain produce from before the New Year is still in stock?"
"What's wrong?" Li Xiangyang asked, puzzled.
“Yesterday my dad received a call from the provincial government saying a Hong Kong businessman wanted to buy a large quantity of Northeastern specialties,” Chu Qingxuan put down her water glass. “My grandfather thought you had a good supply, so he sent me to inquire.”
Li Xiangyang's eyes lit up. Hong Kong businessmen making purchases—this was a great opportunity.
"What are the specific details? What kind of goods are needed?"
"It's mainly ginseng, deer antler, and various dried goods." Chu Qingxuan took out a piece of paper from her bag. "This is the list, take a look."
Li Xiangyang took the list and looked at it carefully. It listed more than a dozen kinds of mountain products, and the quantities were all quite large.
“This is indeed a large quantity,” Li Xiangyang pondered for a moment, “but I should have enough stock here; it just needs time to sort and organize.”
"When do you need it?" Wang Ergou also came over to take a look at the list.
"The sooner the better, ideally before the Lantern Festival," Chu Qingxuan said. "As for the price, my dad said it will be 10% higher than the market price."
Li Xiangyang considered it for a moment. It was already the twelfth lunar month, and there was less than a month until the Lantern Festival. Although time was tight, it wasn't impossible.
“Okay, I’ll take this order,” Li Xiangyang decided. “However, I need some help organizing the goods.”
"That's easy." Chu Qingxuan breathed a sigh of relief. "My grandfather said that if you agree, the village will send someone to help."
"That's good." Li Xiangyang smiled. "I'll discuss the specific details with the Party Secretary."
As they were talking, Li Wangchen ran in from outside, his little face red from the cold.
"Dad, it's so cold outside!" Li Wangchen snuggled into Li Xiangyang's arms as soon as he entered the house.
"This child, has gone out to play again," Li Xiaoyun said reproachfully. "Come here and let Mom see if your hands are frozen."
When Xiaobai saw Li Wangchen come in, it immediately wagged its tail and went to greet him, circling around his feet.
"Little Bai, look, I brought you something good!" Li Wangchen pulled a bone out of his pocket.
Little White sniffed it, happily picked up the bone, found a corner, lay down, and slowly gnawed on it.
"This little thing is quite interesting," Chu Qingxuan said, looking at Xiaobai. "It's really not fierce at all."
"Yes, it's much better behaved than I expected." Li Xiangyang patted his son's head. "Wangchen likes it very much."
"Hmm, the little one is quite pretty. I'll get one for you when it grows up and has its own kittens. Xiangyang, I won't stay any longer, I'll head back now." Chu Qingxuan stood up. "You'll be quite busy these days before the New Year."
"Of course." Li Xiangyang saw Chu Qingxuan to the door. "Be careful on the road."
After watching Chu Qingxuan leave, Li Xiangyang returned to his room, where he began to make plans.
"This is a big order!" Wang Ergou said excitedly. "If we close the deal, we'll have money for the New Year."
“Yes, but time is tight, we need to start preparing immediately.” Li Xiangyang looked at the list. “Ergou, tomorrow we’ll start organizing the inventory and see what we’re missing.”
"No problem," Wang Ergou said, patting his chest. "At worst, I'll just have to work a little harder these next few days to find more sources of goods."
Listening from the side, Li Xiaoyun smiled and said, "That way, we'll have more money for the New Year this year."
"Mom, what are Hong Kong businessmen?" Li Wangchen asked curiously.
Li Xiangyang thought for a moment and explained in a way his son could understand: "They are merchants from very, very far away who want to buy our good products."
"Then why would they buy our products?"
"Because it's hard to find better ginseng and deer antlers elsewhere than here," Li Xiangyang said proudly.
After speaking with his son, Li Xiangyang took Wang Ergou to the factory to find Fatty Ma.
Inside the factory of Sanheshan Treasures Co., Ltd., the faint aroma of medicinal herbs permeates the air amidst the roar of machinery.
Li Xiangyang pushed open the office door, and there was Fatty Ma, who was engrossed in looking at the ledgers with a furrowed brow.
"Brother Ma, what are you busy with?" Li Xiangyang asked with a smile as he walked in.
Fatty Ma looked up and, seeing Li Xiangyang and Wang Ergou, immediately put down his pen: "Why are you two here at this hour? Didn't you say you were off today?"
"I have good news for you." Li Xiangyang sat down in a chair. "Chu Qingxuan just came by and said that a Hong Kong businessman wants to buy mountain products."
"A Hong Kong businessman?" Fatty Ma's eyes lit up, and the weariness on his fat face instantly vanished. "What's going on?"
Wang Ergou pulled the list out of his pocket and handed it over: "Take a look at this list, the quantity is quite large."
Fatty Ma took the list, muttering to himself as he read, "Three hundred catties of ginseng, fifty catties of deer antler, two hundred catties of wood ear mushrooms..." His voice grew louder as he read, "My goodness! How much does this cost?!"
“The price is also 10% higher than the market price,” Li Xiangyang added.
Fatty Ma jumped to his feet, his grip on the list crumpled: "Really? If this works, we'll be rich this year!"
“Absolutely true.” Li Xiangyang was pleased to see Fatty Ma’s excited expression. “However, time is tight; the goods must be delivered before the fifteenth of the first lunar month.”
Fatty Ma paced back and forth in the office, slapping his thigh as he went: "What's the rush! Let's start preparing now!"
He suddenly stopped and turned to look at Li Xiangyang: "Xiangyang, if this deal goes through, all of our workers will get big red envelopes for Chinese New Year this year!"
“That’s what I was thinking too,” Li Xiangyang nodded. “Brother Ma, tell the workers tomorrow that they should all work hard before the New Year, finish this order, and then they can have a holiday and get a bonus for the New Year.”
"No problem!" Fatty Ma slammed his hand on the table. "I'll go talk to the workers right now."
Wang Ergou chimed in, "Brother Ma, do we have enough stock? Should we buy some more?"
Fatty Ma thought for a moment: "Ginseng and deer antler should be about the same price, but wood ear mushrooms and other dried goods might be a bit more scarce. I'll send someone to the surrounding villages to collect them tomorrow; a higher price is fine."
"Then it's settled." Li Xiangyang stood up. "Let's hurry and try to finish ahead of schedule."
