"Now the whole school knows we’re siblings. Are you going to distance yourself from me at school even more in the future?"

She raised her eyes, her dark eyes staring at Sheng Yanxiao, "Do you care about their gazes?"
"Of course not."
"Neither do I."
When she said this, Su Weiyi’s lips curled into a very gentle smile, instantly smoothing out the young man’s furrowed brows.
He gripped Su Weiyi’s shoulders firmly, "You must tell me about these things in the future. I promised I won’t let you be wronged. You’re mine, and I’ll protect you."
Protect you for a lifetime.
Su Weiyi nodded with a smile. She buried her face in Sheng Yanxiao’s chest, preventing her eyes from betraying her emotions, seemingly shy as she snuggled against him, "I believe you."
Though Su Weiyi was buried in Sheng Yanxiao’s chest and couldn’t see, in the young man’s eyes flashed a fleeting loneliness, as he silently tightened his hold on her.
Earlier in the restroom, when Sheng Yanxiao learned about those things from people he wasn’t familiar with, a strong sense of unease arose in his heart. This feeling didn’t fade after seeing Su Weiyi, but instead, grew even stronger.
Although she was right there in his arms, Sheng Yanxiao felt that the distance they had closed so hard was now suddenly incredibly vast.
Perhaps he was being sensitive, perhaps he was overthinking.
The days that followed were no different from before, not like Sheng Yanxiao had imagined, where Su Weiyi deliberately avoided him.
