Chapter 412 Cost of Time Part 3
Chapter 412 Cost of Time Part 3
I checked my Internal Blackhole storage for Sung Hei. She was in her sword form, frozen in time. My blackhole storage functioned as my own dimensional space, so I decided to place her there.
This way, the Time wraiths wouldn't detect her, unless they found a way into my storage. It was a gamble, but it paid off.
For the time being, I would kept her there, waiting until I found a way to retrieve her without alerting the Time Wraiths. I hated to admit it, but I had neither the means to see nor to kill them.
This was really concerning because I had no idea about those things. Sung Hei knew about them, but I couldn't take her out right now.
'I'll check the area first,' I thought to myself.
Becoming invisible, I soared towards the crater's entrance. The devastation was so severe that I doubted anyone could have survived besides myself.
But, questions nagged at me. Such widespread destruction was sure to have ripple effects in the future. So why did the time wraiths unleash this havoc?
I was certain that this destruction would scatter far and wide, setting off a domino effect across the world.
CRACK!
Suddenly, without warning, the sky above began to crack. It wasn't just cracks; it was as if the entire place resembled a shattered glass, with web-like fissures spreading out in all directions, as if the very fabric of reality itself was fracturing before my eyes.
But I did not panic.
Instead, I braced myself for the worst, summoning every ounce of courage and power within me.
CRACK!
In the blink of an eye, everything shattered, and darkness engulfed my vision.
When I finally regained my sight, I found myself back in Sung Hei's prep room. There she was, calmly preparing herself as if nothing had happened.
But I knew for sure that this wasn't the same Sung Hei. In fact, it wasn't just her; all my connections with my puppets had vanished too.
With that concern in my mind ,I turned invisible and flew towards the Yuki's clan. If this was the same reality as before then my connection with them would still be okay. I wanted to think that the case was just isolated on the stadium.
Fortunately, the moment I entered their range, my Mind Link connected to them right away, confirming my theory that it was just an isolated case, and I was still in my real world.
I hurriedly made my way to Yuki's room, where she was currently resting.
"Master!" Yuki exclaimed as she saw me, rushing over to give me a hug. I could smell her aroma as we embraced each other.
"I had a bad feeling a few minutes ago," Yuki spoke up, her voice tinged with concern. It seemed that my connection with her had allowed her to sense something was amiss during my face-off with the Wraiths.
Pulling back slightly, I looked into her eyes and smiled reassuringly. "Don't worry."
She nodded, her expression reflecting both trust and concern. "What happened out there?"
"Nothing important," I chuckled, deciding not to divulge any further details. I knew she wouldn't understand the complexities of the situation; after all, the concept of time was too intricate for most to grasp.
The only reason I was able to come up with my own hypothesis right away was due to my accelerated thought process and high IQ.
After dealing with her, I made my way to the underground base to speak with the Phoenix.
The statue was currently the only one here that I could discuss things with. Perhaps it knew something that I didn't.
"Time Wraiths?" the statue asked.
"Do you know about them?" I inquired, hoping for some insight.
"I apologize, but I have no knowledge about this topic," the statue replied. "However, judging from your story, they seem to be very formidable beings."
"Formidable is a very heavy understatement," I sighed, acknowledging the gravity of the situation.
It was a worrisome situation, but at the same time, something inside me felt that this was just the start. I had a feeling I would encounter them more often in the future.
