Reading the words on the cover of the enormous book on the table—seriously, this book was too heavy, I'd say it had at least 4,500 pages... Letting out another sigh, I opened the book slowly. The first thing I saw was a drawing of a fairy. I have to say it was quite realistic; she had a light blue dress, and on her back were her delicate blue wings. "Aguariana" was the name written below the drawing. Touching the drawing lightly with my fingers, a bitter feeling settled in my heart. Confused, I felt something light resting on my shoulders. Looking out of the corner of my eye, I saw the little fairy staring intently at the drawing. I could feel that we shared the same sentiment: "Melancholy and sadness, huh..." I thought to myself. I was sure these feelings were not mine; they belonged to the little fairy.
Turning the page, I found a blank sheet. There were a total of five blank pages until I finally reached something interesting.
The Myth of Elaria: The Creation of Fairies in the World
At the beginning of time, before the human kingdoms rose and the great dragons ruled the skies, enormous beings, as large as mountains, walked across the lands. Ancient beings, as old as life itself, lived hidden deep underground. Different types of animals fought among themselves for total dominance. Uncontrollable wars ravaged ecosystems, and wars of devastation ruined everything around them. Flames scorched the earth, turning it as black as night.
Lumeria was a vast desert of pure energy and primordial chaos, lifeless, filled with enormous craters where the remains of ancient contenders rested. Their huge bones rose towards the sky, so large they could even eclipse the sun itself. From this chaos emerged Elaria, the goddess of Life and Nature. Elaria, with her beautiful, almost transparent green eyes and light green hair cascading to the ground, exuded the very essence of life. Floating a few feet above the ground, she let herself fall. When her feet touched the dead earth, it filled with life. In an instant, flowers, herbs, and roots emerged from the ground, followed by trees.
The vast desert itself transformed astonishingly; in a few seconds, the terrible desert had completely disappeared. Now, a beautiful green ecosystem stretched out in all directions.
Zephyra, the Fairy of Air: Forged from the breath of the purest wind, Zephyra controlled the winds, storms, and weather, ensuring clean and breathable air.
Ignara, the Fairy of Fire: Born from the spark of eternal fire, Ignara was the guardian of flames, controlling fire in all its forms, from warm hearths to destructive wildfires. Her mission was twofold: to provide warmth and energy, but also to remind of the devastation uncontrolled fire could cause.
The Great Betrayal and the Fragile Balance
For millennia, the fairies worked in harmony, maintaining Lumeria in perfect balance. However, not all beings shared Elaria's vision. An ancient God of chaos, known as Maelgor, envied Elaria's creation and desired a return to the primordial state of chaos.
Maelgor attempted to corrupt the fairies, promising them unlimited power if they joined him. Although many resisted, some succumbed to temptation, and thus the corrupted fairies, known as the Sombrías, were born. These corrupted fairies began to undo Elaria's work, causing imbalances and natural disasters.
Noctara, the Fairy of Darkness, faced a great internal struggle. Her essence was tied to shadow and mystery, and Maelgor tried to use this to make her one of his allies. However, Noctara resisted as much as she could, clinging desperately to the light that consumed her soul, which was too dark. Within her was warmth and calm.
The only one among the six primordials, queens of their species, mother of all dark fairies, fell into the hands of corruption.
