Chapter 169 Door
Chapter 169 Door
Cristal led us into an extraordinarily spacious room. Inside stood an imposing artifact: a huge door interconnected with countless thick cables. Surrounding this door were numerous capsule-shaped beds, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of a science fiction novel. This was the place where real-time simulations took place, all under the command of Cristal, the owner of this space.
Observing the capsules, I couldn't help but marvel at the advanced technology unfolding before my eyes. Although technology was common in this world, here it seemed even more advanced and exaggerated. The process to set up this place was complicated. First, the huge door had to be at maximum power.
Interestingly, this door had been discovered in Zone 8 during one of the expeditions led by Draven Ironforge, under the orders of the Emperor.
Draven found the door in ruins located a thousand kilometers from Zone 8. Initially, it was thought to be a unique material, but attempts to work with it proved it impossible to deform. Draven even attempted to split it in two, to no avail. After a meeting, it was decided that the magical faculty of the academy would take charge of researching it.
For years, mages, alchemists, and artifact creators attempted to decode the runes and magical circles carved on the door, finally discovering its abnormal affinity with dimensional magic. At that time, only a teenage girl in her fourth academic year had the necessary aptitudes to interact with the door.
Research on the Zone 8 door was carried out under the watchful eyes of the dukes and the Emperor himself. The mages and others involved in the study were eager to uncover the secrets of this artifact, one of the few extracted from that mysterious region.
The importance of this discovery for the empire was unquestionable, as it not only provided unknown knowledge but also offered valuable information about Zone 8.
The young elf showing great affinity with dimensional magic was of paramount importance for the empire. She was unique in her class, being the first to manifest that type of magic. Her loss would be devastating for the empire, so the mages took extreme security measures to protect her during the research process.Nôv(el)B\\jnn
Cristal's experience made her feel as if an eternity had passed within that ethereal space. She found herself in some sort of audience, where important figures of the empire listened attentively to her words, eager to understand the extent of her experience.
After answering a few more questions, the crucial moment came when Seraphine asked the question that had been on everyone's mind: "How did you get a true name in that space?"
Cristal's eyes lit up with a spark of emotion as she remembered that moment. She recounted how, after millennia wandering through space without a name to identify her, she found immense runes that seemed to pulsate softly. As she approached them, surrounded by the mysterious energy of that place, she felt a mixture of fascination and fear.
They were runes of a nature unknown to her, but in an instant, they began to move towards her deliberately.
Caught by surprise and confusion, Cristal tried to retreat, but found herself immobilized, unable to escape the influence of the mysterious runes. With amazement, she watched as the runes gently settled on her head, emitting an ethereal glow that seemed to transform into a river of light, whose specks shone with a beautiful platinum glow.
Cristal remembered how that river of light descended upon her with an intoxicating gentleness, plunging her into a state of trance before finally losing consciousness.
After some more questions, Cristal left the audience. Seraphine, with her white robe, golden hair, and eyes, declared: "She spoke the truth." Her voice was soft and calm; throughout the interrogation, she had used an ability that allowed her to detect lies as a means of protection.
No one could say that Cristel's body had been taken by an unknown species, although she was unaware Seraphine was looking directly into her soul to detect any anomalies,, but he realized that everything was in order.
