My Wife and I Became Sages in Another World

Chapter 354: Black Ice Pinnacle

Chapter 354: Black Ice Pinnacle

Chapter 354: Black Ice PinnacleAfter getting a quick visit from Garon, the God of Beasts, he asked us for a favor in helping out the Lava Dragon.

At first, we thought about entirely skipping Black Ice Pinnacle since the dragon was generating an energy that felt pretty threatening, even when we were still a few hundred kilometers away.

However, knowing that the beast was doing it to protect an egg from devils made me change my mind a little.

We had to fly pretty high up in the air so that the snowstorm that was falling on the glacial zone wouldn’t hit us as hard as it was, and a few hours later, we were out of the frozen ground area.

The earth leading to Black Ice Pinnacle was dark, and it only got darker the closer we got to the mountain, where every rock and grain of dirt was a deep, obsidian color.

The dragon’s energy was pretty overwhelming, but we still advanced confidently, knowing that the threat wasn’t directly aiming at us.

"Is the dragon at the peak?" I wondered out loud.

Arashi, the Storm Dragon, had her lair at the very top of Rose Peak, so it wouldn’t be strange if the other dragons were similar.

However, Vespera refuted my claim, saying that the Lava Dragon wouldn’t make his lair somewhere so high up. Instead, we had to look for a cave entrance that would lead us inside the mountain.

When we reached the foot of the mountain, we noticed that it was almost impossible to climb, at least not without magic.

The stones were jagged and pointy, and there didn’t seem to be any hiking paths. It was as if a black wall of rocky spikes divided the glacial zone from the mainland of the north.

Still, even if we had to cross it, it wouldn’t have been a problem since we could simply fly over it.

My companions and I were constantly using our "

"Well, I suppose we’ll have to check each of the cave entrances. Let’s start with the closest one from here..." I said.

The first entrance was found by Bjorn, and it was only five minutes of walking from our position. However, it didn’t take long for us to reach the end, which led to a precipice with a lava pool at the bottom.

"Alright, this one isn’t it..." I muttered as we turned around to leave our first tunnel.

The second and third cave tunnels we tried were more of the same, with one leading to a spike trap and the other one leading to a wall of lava that flowed through the insides of the obsidian mountain.

The entrance I found was the only one that was inaccessible on foot, and my intuition was telling me that it must have been the right path to take.

’If the cave I found was a trap, then I don’t think the dragon would have bothered in putting it in such a difficult place to reach...’ I thought.

All of the caves that my team found were pretty easy to get to, as they would mainly require them to jump a few rocks to reach them, so it was clear that the more exposed the entrance was, the higher the chance of it being a trap.
