Chapter 941 The Long-Awaited Peaceful Atmosphere

Chapter 941 The Long-Awaited Peaceful Atmosphere

The Uchiha clan's territory exuded a long-lost sense of peace, with warm sunshine and a refreshing atmosphere filling the air.

After several bloody battles, this atmosphere was almost a luxury for Mikoto.

As she walked along the stone-paved path in the ancestral land, she felt a sense of relief as she listened to the laughter of the people around her, the playful sounds of children, and the greetings and smiles exchanged between them.

The arrival of peace temporarily freed her from those oppressive shadows, as if these carefree times were compensation for everything she had experienced.

“Look, this is the Uchiha clan’s old house,” Mikoto excitedly pointed to an ancient building in front of her and introduced it to Zhang Hai. “This house has stood for generations and witnessed the glory and honor of our clan. Look at these carvings, they are all part of the clan’s history, and every wooden pillar is engraved with the foundation of our Uchiha clan.” Her eyes shone with light, as if all of this could make her temporarily forget the pain of the past.

Zhang Hai followed silently behind her, outwardly showing little interest. His gaze remained calm; the laughter and celebratory atmosphere seemed unimportant to him. For him, family history and his own goals were paramount, and the outside world could not disturb his calm contemplation.

However, Mikoto's excitement did not disappear because of Zhang Hai's silence. She continued to enthusiastically introduce every corner to him: "Many important family ceremonies have been held here, and there are many stories worth remembering. We once fought against Hashirama and Madara of the Senju clan. That history could even determine the entire ninja world's landscape."

Zhang Hai remained calm, his heart unmoved despite listening to Mikoto's story. He understood that Mikoto's love for her family was deeply intertwined with her emotions, but he was more focused on the secrets and information he could glean from this clan's territory. Given the family's glorious history, there must be hidden forces at play, and these forces were precisely Zhang Hai's objective.

"I understand," Zhang Hai replied calmly, showing little emotional fluctuation. Although he wasn't offended by Mikoto's enthusiasm, he remained calm and rational.

Mikoto seemed oblivious to Zhang Hai's emotional fluctuations, and continued to enthusiastically lead him toward the Uchiha clan's Naga Shrine, a serene and ancient shrine that carries the weight of the clan's memories and history.

“This is the ancestral temple of the Uchiha clan,” Mikoto said, pointing to the entrance of the shrine. “This shrine witnessed the first encounter between Hashirama and Madara, and the bloody confrontation between the Uchiha clan and the Senju clan. Every year, we come here to pay homage to our ancestors.”

Zhang Hai listened quietly, his heart unmoved. Whenever Mikoto recounted this history, Zhang Hai's gaze grew even calmer. He knew that this place was of paramount importance to his family, and that what he sought lay hidden deep within this land.

Upon entering the shrine, Zhang Hai stood before a stone tablet, his expression turning solemn. He carefully examined every inscription on the tablet, his chakra beginning to flow, activating his Sharingan.

This stone tablet carries the history of the Uchiha clan, but it is not merely a simple historical record; it also conceals a mysterious power. Zhang Hai closed his eyes and focused intently on activating his eye power. Instantly, the words on the stone tablet began to imprint themselves into his mind in a strange way.

An ancient history slowly unfolds: the war between the ancestors of the Uchiha clan and the Senju clan, the clan's glory and destruction, and even a deeper conspiracy. Zhang Hai's heart races; he knows what this information means. These words hint at the goal he has been searching for—a power that can change the future, hidden within his family's bloodline.

Zhang Hai opened his eyes, his gaze unwavering. He took a deep breath and made a silent resolution. This wasn't just about understanding his family; it concerned his future actions. Although his heart was filled with calm, an unprecedented power was also surging within him.

Meanwhile, Mikoto was oblivious to Zhang Hai's change; she was talking to Shisui and Itachi nearby. Itachi and Shisui were engaged in their daily training, their movements fluid and precise, their teamwork seamless, demonstrating the deep camaraderie between them.

As Mikoto approached, Itachi and Shisui stopped training, showing her respect in unison. Mikoto smiled and gestured for them to continue training; she didn't need them to stop for her.

"You've trained very well," Mikoto said to the two, her eyes filled with satisfaction. "Continue, don't worry about me."

Itachi glanced at Mikoto and said softly, "Mother, why didn't you come back all night? Is Father's injury serious?"

Mikoto stopped, paused for a moment, then chuckled and shook her head. "It's nothing serious. My godfather just needs to rest. I took care of him, it's nothing." She tried to explain casually, but she could still feel the concern in Itachi's eyes.

Shisui remained silent, standing quietly to the side, a complex emotion flickering in his eyes. He had once had a deep relationship with his adoptive father, but as time passed, many things seemed to have become increasingly complicated. Mikoto noticed Shisui's emotional fluctuation and gently teased, "What's wrong, Shisui? You seem to care more about your adoptive father than about me?"

Shisui paused slightly, then smiled, but there was a hint of bitterness in his smile. He lowered his head, as if there were some things he couldn't say: "I... I'm just concerned about my godfather's health." He paused, then smiled bitterly, "It's just that there are some things that seem inconvenient to say."

Seeing this, Mikoto felt a slight pang in her heart, understanding Shisui's inner conflict and struggle. She said softly, "You don't need to force yourself, Shisui. Let everyone work together to solve the family's problems."

Shisui gave Mikoto a deep look, and finally just whispered, "Yes, Mother."

The Uchiha clan's stone tablet has always been reserved for the clan head. Shisui, due to his exceptional talent, gained Fugaku's favor and thus learned of this place, but he had never seen the tablet before. Facing the six menacing blades before him, Shisui finally sighed, sheathed his sword, and sat cross-legged, seemingly intending to wait for Zhang Hai to emerge. The six blades returned to the basement. Shisui's choice was wise; if he had truly pushed Zhang Hai to the limit, the consequences would have been dire. Zhang Hai had already expelled him from the team, and his attitude towards him was no longer that of a former captain.
