Chapter 150 Gods Are Plagues
Chapter 150 Gods Are Plagues
There was silence all around, the portal behind slowly closed, and the last ray of light disappeared.
Howard slowly lifted his foot, and the texture of the object under his feet was soft and sticky.
Extreme uneasiness surged in his heart, and he tremblingly took out the Om Messiah from his pocket, turned on the light, and what he saw almost made him throw his phone away.
This was supposed to be an interrogation room, but now it felt like it was in the belly of a monster.
The walls, ceiling, and floor on all four sides turned into flesh walls covered with blood vessels. Countless mouths with fangs appeared on the flesh walls, and many bulging eyeballs grew out like mushrooms.
Threads of tentacles and sinews stretched across the room, writhing and bursting, spewing out clumps of slime and foul matter.
If Howard in the past had been in the same room with these filthy things, he would have probably been suffocated by the smell, but perhaps because of the green leaf that Nurgle gave him, Howard actually felt that the smell was still within his tolerable range.
Although his life was not threatened for the time being, extreme anxiety and fear still surged up in his mind, but he suppressed them with his reason.
Howard opened the Om Messiah and asked, "Om Messiah, where am I?"
Om Messiah's screen lit up. "Master, you are undoubtedly in the upper reaches of Hive Kalimdor."
This answer made Howard's heart sink to the bottom. He really would rather Om Messiah tell him that he was in the monster's belly.
Howard: "How long was I in the Garden of Nurgle?"
Om Messiah: "Master, you spent approximately 7.7 million seconds in the Warp. When you emerged from the Warp, only two weeks passed in the real universe."
After a moment of silence, Howard continued, "Om Messiah... can you contact Arabelle?"
Om Messiah was silent for a moment before replying, "Answering Master, I received no reply to the message I sent to Miss Arabelle."
"Then can you contact Char? Ivan, or anyone else!" Howard asked anxiously again.
But Om Messiah still gave the same answer.
Unable to suppress the uneasiness and fear in his heart any longer, Howard ignored the nausea and crawled through the room full of tentacles and mucus, then pulled the door handle of the interrogation room and tried to leave.
Howard opened the door of the interrogation room a little, but he couldn't open it any further because several tentacles were entwined between the door and the door frame, and no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't open it.
"Cnm, get out of my way!" Howard slammed the door in frustration and kicked it.
But he didn't expect that when he lost his temper, the tentacles that were clinging to the door actually shrank to the side obediently.
But he no longer had the mind to think about the principle behind this. He rushed out of the interrogation room, and the corridor outside also turned into a fleshy tube. If the interrogation room was the monster's stomach, then this corridor was the monster's esophagus or intestine.
With the help of Om Messiah's navigation, Howard finally escaped from the body of the huge monster, but when he pushed open the door he came in, a wave of heat hit his face.
The upper level of the hive city, which was originally prosperous in the outside world, was now a sea of fire.
The sky above was burning, and the dust that lingered on Nat Star all year round still covered the sky. However, through the thin gaps in the dust, a blazing red light shone through, like magma flowing out of the surface of volcanic rock that had solidified and then cracked.
Brilliant pillars of light shot down from the clouds onto the earth, like the brimstone and fire cast upon Sodom as recorded in the scriptures. Under this divine punishment, the earth's crust was pierced, and the vast desert melted into a sea of liquid glass.
Countless meteors trailing gray-black smoke fell from the sky and hit the surface of the hive, causing large-scale explosions and destruction. Then teams of Star Army troops armed to the teeth rushed out and poured fire on everything that was still able to move on Nat.
Whether infected creatures, wandering demons, or ordinary residents who survived, they were all blown to pieces under the fierce artillery fire, and many Astra Militarum troops were also pushed back and overwhelmed because their firepower was insufficient to suppress the clusters of infected people.
Snowflakes were dancing in the air, they were the ashes after burning, and the air was filled with a burnt bitter smell.
Looking at the destruction and death before him, Howard stood there in a daze, feeling extremely absurd and unreal.
This shouldn't be the ending.
We worked so hard and made so many sacrifices. I even dealt with the evil god. This shouldn't be the ending.
Then the vibration of Om Messiah awakened him again.
Om Messiah: "Master, I have detected a weak communication from the Mid-Nest. There may still be survivors in the Mid-Nest."
Howard's hope suddenly rekindled. "Can you decipher the content of the communication?"
Ohm Messiah: "Sorry, Master, the signal was too brief and too weak."
"I'm going to the middle nest, lead the way for me." Howard made the decision immediately.
Om Messiah: "Master, if you choose to go to the Middle Nest now, you may encounter unforeseen dangers."
"I'm going to the middle nest, lead the way for me!" Howard repeated word by word.
Ohm Messiah: "Understood, Master."
Under the operation of Om Messiah, an unmanned, semi-damaged airship soon stopped in front of Howard. Howard boarded the airship and flew towards the middle nest.
Many Astra Militarum soldiers discovered this unusual flying vehicle. They tried to open fire to shoot down Howard's airship, but all weapons aimed at Howard were ineffective. At the same time, Howard encountered swarms of plague flies and Nurgle flies, but perhaps because of the breath of Nurgle on their bodies, these monsters all ignored Howard, and some even provided cover for him.
Half an hour later, the airship came in through the blasted-open gate of the middle nest. Howard landed in the middle nest, and then he got off the airship.
The Middle Nest was not as severely corrupted by the Warp as the Upper Nest, but it was also severely damaged. This destruction was different from the previous occupation by plague creatures. The areas occupied by plague creatures would only be damaged due to lack of maintenance, but now there are ruins that have not yet burned out everywhere. There is no living person on the streets, and plague creatures that have lost their lives... and uninfected humans are lying everywhere.
On the way to Arabelle's residence, Howard discovered a new big pit on the street. He walked to the edge of the pit and looked down, and saw countless corpses piled up in the pit.
These corpses were thrown into the pit in a disorderly manner, and then doused with gasoline and burned. However, when the gasoline burned out, it only turned the surface of the corpses into charcoal. During the burning process, the skin, flesh and fat of the corpses melted and stuck to each other. After the fire was extinguished and cooled, they could no longer be separated. In the end, it looked like a huge half-melted chocolate ball. The melted liquid under the chocolate ball was burnt corpse oil, and the chocolate ball itself was a semicircular meat ball made up of countless corpses.
The charred shells of many corpses cracked, revealing the white, already cooked flesh within. Some, however, retained an immature pink flesh, their cracks oozing blood. Countless hands reached out from the cracks in the outermost layer of corpses, seemingly grasping for something. Those who had been alive before the incineration attempted to escape the pile, but were also burned to death.
Looking at this horrific pile of corpses, Howard covered his mouth and nose and stepped back repeatedly, then couldn't help retching. For some reason, the impact of this pile of charred corpses on him was greater than the monsters in Nurgle's Garden.
After vomiting everything in his stomach, Howard sat on the ground dejectedly, pulling his hair in pain and self-blame.
While a guest in the Garden of Nurgle, he overlooked one important thing.
The portal leading directly to the Garden of Nurgle remains open.
He returned too late, and the plague came to the world again, bringing destruction to the world.
"Messiah?" Someone suddenly called him from behind.
