Chapter 588: Manu Enters The Palace

Chapter 588: Manu Enters The Palace

The ride back to Kendou was a very quiet one. No one inside the Tersseract was foolish enough to open their mouth to voice out their complain or dissatisfaction.

Besides, many of them just assumed that Chiron had acquired incredible power and was therefore back to take the throne.

Meanwhile, Manu was beginning to feel uncomfortable again in his pants, and his hands had already began surveying the female Orc’s body, touching very particular places, regardless of her injury.

She was angry at this, but was no fool. The power that this new Chiron now commanded was no joke. Besides, her weapon that she had used for countless battles, now commanded her body. No matter how hard she tried, she could not stop it.

Soon, they had made it to the Capital city. However, in entering the city of Kendou, the spirit energy shield that protected the capital city refused to be brought down.

The Commander of the Tersseract panicked at this, as he whispered the development into the ears of Elder baldie.

Elder baldie went straight to the dash board, activating a totem on it, "Open up the shields, this is Elder baldie of the Giant Serpent Tribe, and I am accompanying a very important Guest and the rightful ruler of this land. You will do well to let us in."

However, the reply he got was less than satisfying. Stating that King Victor had declared that the Shields be kept up. Maintained in their state until further notice.

Elder Baldie frowned at this. And he kept on screaming into the totem but there was suddenly no reply.

At this point, Manu took a step forward, brushing Elder baldie gently to the side, and then he touched the totem for communication, his voice seemed to change octave, becoming like the slithering whisper of a snake.

*Serpent Whisper...*

"Open the shields!"

Instantly, the soldier at the other end felt a compulsion beyond his control and then his eyes glowed a sharp yellow. He immediately did as he was told, instantly operating the controls to bring down the shields.

Meanwhile, King Victor had been in his room all the while.

He had been panicking since he heard that Chiron was back. After all, he had seen in the past the things that Chiron had done, and knight Sheyi had said so himself that Chiron was going to come back.

All those five years ago, it had seemed like it was a lie, a fantasy of sorts, After all no one had ever entered the Forbidden Fog of unbounded demise and come out of it alive. One person, but that one died the same day.

However, Chiron had always been a proven anomaly.

The Tersseract landed on the palace grounds, and its huge doors were opened. Manu stepped forward, with his hands clasped behind his back.

"It feels good to be back." those words were spoken from both his perspective and that of Chiron’s. After all, for Chiron it had been a while, and for Manu madayaki, it had been even more than that.

Commander Hardstone stood tall in his ceremonial armor, gleaming under the midday sun. The intricate designs of the royal guards’ armor shimmered, marking them as protectors of the throne.

Behind him, the other royal guards, equally imposing, stood ready, their weapons aimed at the approaching figure of Manu Madayaki. The palace gates loomed behind them, the last barrier between Manu and the royal seat of power.

As Manu approached, the tension was strong.

Commander Hardstone raised his voice, firm and resolute. "CHIRON, by the decree of the crown, you have been declared an enemy of the state for your role in the murder of King Richard. You are ordered to come with us to face judgment."

Manu’s gaze swept over the line of guards before settling on Hardstone.

This was the man who had once brought Chiron to these lands, a man Chiron had spoken of with respect. Even Manu could see the honor that radiated from him—a soldier who followed orders with unwavering loyalty. For a moment, Manu’s expression softened, as though he were weighing Hardstone’s worth.

He extended a hand, fingers curling ever so slightly in invitation. "Commander Hardstone," Manu’s voice was smooth, persuasive, "you are a man of integrity, strength, and loyalty. I can see it, even Chiron respected you. You would be an invaluable soldier under my command. Shift your loyalty. Kiss my finger, and I will take you under my wing. Serve me, and you will be rewarded beyond your imagination."

For a fleeting moment, doubt flickered in Hardstone’s eyes. The offer was tempting, more tempting than he’d care to admit. After all, many might not know it, but he knew that Chiron was the rightful heir to the throne.

His fingers twitched, and his eyes darted toward Manu’s extended hand. His men behind him shifted uneasily, sensing his hesitation.

But then, Commander Hardstone’s expression hardened. His frown deepened as he straightened his back, eyes locking with Manu’s. "My loyalty is to the crown and the throne of Vandoria," he said with conviction, his voice unwavering. "And the one sitting on it now is King Victor. I will not betray him."

With those words, Hardstone activated his totem. The air around him shimmered as the holographic form of a massive gorilla materialized behind him, its fierce roar echoing through the palace courtyard. In a blur of motion, Hardstone charged at Manu, his colossal totem driving him forward with unstoppable force.

But before he could even land a blow, Manu Madayaki released a wave of spiritual pressure. The force of it was overwhelming, a crushing weight that pressed down on the entire courtyard. The royal guards, along with Hardstone, were forced to their knees, their weapons clattering to the ground as the sheer magnitude of Manu’s power immobilized them.

Manu stepped forward, his eyes calm and dispassionate as he patted Hardstone’s shoulder. "Let’s see how long that loyalty of yours will last." His voice was quiet, almost a whisper, but it carried a weight that left no room for defiance.

Without another word, Manu walked past the kneeling guards, the palace gates parting before him. His entourage followed closely behind, and not a single guard dared to stop him. He was untouchable, his presence undeniable, as he entered the palace unchallenged. The path to the throne was now his.

However, this was only a small a kingdom. A base of sorts for the incredible plans that he had.

Far ahead of him was the throne. However, surprisingly, there on the seat was a covered plate with blood leaking down the sides, and at the side was a seductive figure, with most of her body covered by a veil...
